Welcome back to Previously On. I'm Alexa Clone.
And I'm Kristen Toole. And we are back yet again.
Dancing with the Stars is really gearing up.
We are down to just a few more episodes. Yeah,
I think three episodes, which is crazy.
This has flown by and the competition is so intense right
now. It is. I think this is really to the moment where people are like,
okay, this is like make it or break it
Like, we are really close to the mirror ball.
I can't fail now
And everyone who is left now could totally take it.
Any of them, for sure.
Yes.
So it was Disney night, which is always such a fun night.
Disney Broadway, which is like an interesting little twist.
Yeah, I'm kind of here for it.
I mean, they had obviously celebrity and just...
Our amazing icon, Cynthia Erivo, as a guest host.
But she did a pretty great job, I would say.
She did.
I think she also gave, like,
good critiques where it was like you could learn from her.
Yeah, I actually saw some people commenting online,
too, that the guest judge is usually,
like, so buttery and so sugary and, like,
just gives them all the high scores.
She was actually a little more tough than some of our everyday judges.
Yeah, but I kind of liked it.
I feel like that's what this group, like, needs.
They need actual, like, instead of just...
Have more energy.
They need, like,
no, you need to, you know,
fix your toe here.
Yes.
And she obviously
has the experience
to know what she's talking about.
Exactly.
So it was really good.
Really fun episode.
Interesting episode
because obviously
we had one day less.
Yes.
Because we aired on Monday
due to election day
and they had two dances.
Yeah.
So the pressure was really on.
Yeah, I don't know how I would not be able to see that.
That is pretty intense.
And you could see it with some of the people in these rehearsals.
It was breaking them.
Yeah.
And who rebounded?
We'll see.
Well, yeah, definitely some did not, but that's okay.
Yeah.
So.
Yes. So this was Disney night.
So obviously all the dances were based off of that, which is so fun.
Yeah. Which is so fun and really high scores. Yes.
Um, I don't know who should we start with? Oh, let's go in order.
So Amber was first and she was Hercules, which was so iconic. Obviously
her and Pasha were leading in different parts of the dance, which
I love that for her because she's been like, you know, I dance alone.
Now I have a partner.
But now she gets to be the star of the show.
For sure, which she completely nailed it.
I mean, it's so rare, too,
for like a woman to be able to like lead a man.
But I mean, she knocked it out of the park.
And good on him, her partner, her pro, giving her that opportunity.
A thousand percent.
Yeah.
And they just work so well.
I really, really like them.
I really like them.
And I will say she is so ripped.
Like, how do I get her arm routine?
Well, that's the thing with this show, too.
Like, I remember Alex Earl was like,
Rick, what do I do when this show is done?
Because I won't have my abs anymore.
Oh, yeah.
They're getting, like, leaner and leaner and leaner.
Especially at this time in the competition.
You really start to notice.
It's like, oh, my God.
Their, like, faces are changing.
I mean, they all went in beautiful.
But now they're, like...
built. Yeah, it's so impressive,
which they say time and time again, like, welcome to being a
dancer. Like, this is what the life is like.
I need that. So yeah, this was really fun.
I can't remember her scores exactly, but they were up there.
Yeah.
They obviously did a great job.
For sure.
And then we went to Maura.
Yes.
As Tinkerbell.
So cute.
She's so cute, which this was another one that like,
okay, the competition is getting
to her a little bit.
Yeah, I know.
I don't, she posted like afterwards, which I was just like, aw.
This poor girl.
First, I have to say, genius to have her be Tink
because she says, think.
She says Tink and I'm like that is so good like
that that literally nailed it. So clever and so
charming so endearing which is perfect for her.
Yes but she was going through something. I didn't
I mean you could kind of tell obviously.
I think the exhaustion has set in
the physicality of the show has set
in for her and she is a small girl. Yeah.
So, yeah, I mean, you look at Amber, who's, like,
ripped and so athletic and has been, like, training for so long.
Mora has just been, like, a skinny girl, I'm sure, her whole life.
Totally.
This amount of…
Training is probably so new to her and yeah exhausting.
Your body is like what are we doing
and how much longer are we doing this?
Right so good for her. I do think these like faster dancers
are so much harder for her.
Yeah I think just because of the stamina which she's talked about
too. So this one was really cute and entertaining
but you could see it was a little harder for her.
For sure yeah but all in all proud of her.
Crushed it. I could definitely see them.
They're still, yeah, they're still going to stick around.
For sure.
Then Tatiana was so gorgeous.
So gorgeous.
Every time she dances, I think,
I really do think she's getting so much better.
Oh, yeah.
I feel like she is the hidden gem of this season.
Completely agree.
I genuinely thought, because actually,
I've never watched Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
It's so hard for me to say.
I know.
But so I didn't like really know who she was going.
I mean, she was so young on that show.
So it has like this is a whole different Tatiana that we're seeing.
And she's fully going for it.
She was the team captain for the group dances,
which we'll get into that.
Yeah.
I'm just so impressed.
Me too.
She just is so entertaining to watch too.
Like it's like you want to like jump in and start dancing with her.
Yeah.
It was a really beautiful dance.
And I think they are pushing each other.
each other like every week.
For sure.
Yeah, this is so good for Jan too
because he's like
never really gone this far.
I mean, he's like such a new pro.
And he's so hilarious.
The memes that come from that man
after every single episode
are hilarious.
They're perfect.
I love it.
He's like, yeah,
the comedic relief
I get from this show right now too.
He definitely is.
And I don't think he like
really does it that much on purpose.
No.
It's just the best part.
Yeah, so good.
Then Harry Shum Jr.
Obviously,
this man is incredible.
Incredible.
Incredible.
He has it, obviously, from his background.
He's had some dance experience.
But this one, they said this too,
that that looked like it could be on Broadway.
Oh, a thousand percent.
Yes.
Literally starting, I mean, from the beginning, he was so good.
Yeah.
But last week with the Halloween dance,
you could see that he's like starting to get comfortable
with the acting.
Yes.
Yeah.
So now he is like totally confident.
Which this one, they got perfect scores.
But I will say.
And I am seeing this a little bit online too,
so it's not just my hot take.
The amount of, like,
Jenna solos that we're getting in some of these dances bothers me.
Yeah.
And I feel like that's very much her brand.
Also, just the bob, which kills me.
Yeah, she's hilarious.
Always in a black bob.
Loves the bob.
She should just cut her hair.
She should.
But, yeah, you want to highlight the celeb.
Yeah.
And the end of this dance was just, like, her.
Her.
With him kind of in the background.
Right.
Which is, like...
I don't know.
I mean, she's a great dancer.
It's great to watch.
Yeah, it's fun to watch.
Kind of agree with your hot take.
But a little selfish.
For sure.
I mean, like, Ezra gives Julia Stiles so many moments,
like, to herself to shine.
Yeah.
And Harry can handle it.
It's not like we have to hide his abilities a little bit.
He's not a background dancer.
Yeah.
So that kind of bothered me.
But obviously, Harry's incredible.
Yes.
Then Ezra and Daniela were the Little Mermaid.
So cute.
So cute, and again, similar to Pasha, her husband,
giving Amber all of these opportunities,
she had said, we're not going to do the samba,
it's way too hard with your ability, and then
reversed face and said, you know what, no, I think you can handle it.
To have someone believe in you like that.
Insane.
And I mean, I believe in him.
Oh, totally.
He could do anything.
We've seen him confront every challenge and do it above and beyond.
So this was so cool.
And there was a little tangle of her dress in the prosthetic leg,
which everyone was like freaking out about.
Yeah.
But like magic.
I'm honestly shocked that hasn't happened before.
I agree.
To be honest.
Like now seeing how it does happen, I'm like, oh, wow.
Like it's super impressive that they haven't been able to like.
Imagine it actually got stuck and they had to, like, pause the dance
and, like, that could have been such a tragedy, but truly, like, magic.
It just unraveled itself.
Disney magic.
Yes.
It was gorgeous.
Gorgeous.
That one was so fun.
Then we had Julia doing Hamilton, which,
spoiler alert, Julia did go home.
She did.
Which, yeah, this one was tough.
I can't say I'm too shocked about her going home, just based off.
Kind of the weeks leading up to this.
Right, the past few weeks have been harder for her.
She seems like she's really been in her head.
I feel like she, like, initially was getting better.
Yeah, I think so, too.
And then really got in her head, and then,
I don't know, just lost the phase.
This was interesting.
Obviously, her and Ezra have developed this, like, true connection.
Mm-hmm.
Um.
Actually, I just saw today that he wrote her a goodbye poem
in the tune of 10 Things I Hate About You.
So sweet.
So sweet.
I was tearing up watching it.
And they went and got matching tattoos or something.
So I love that their bond, we got that from this show.
I think this healed a lot of things in her,
but I don't think with the people we have left,
she's up to the challenge.
Totally.
And it happens.
I mean, you get to a certain point where it's like,
okay, there are people.
Better.
Yes.
And that's just kind of like how the competition works.
Agreed.
So bummer for Julia, but the competition will go on.
Hamilton was also just such an interesting choice.
Yeah, it was.
That's tougher.
It's not as like.
That is like Broadway.
Like I feel like.
Yes.
For like Little Mermaid and like Tinkerbell,
like you don't really see them on.
I mean, I'm sure there are Broadway performances based on them,
but like Hamilton, you see
the performance.
Right.
So it's a harder critique.
It was harder, which.
Yeah.
Facing an upward battle.
Totally.
So Jenna Dewan was Belle.
Another one that's like Disney princess.
Yes.
Yeah, very easy to lean into the magic.
For sure.
That one was so gorgeous too.
Yeah, I know.
I really just love their costumes.
I'm like, I just want to wear their costumes.
I know.
Yeah, she really gets good ones.
She does get good ones.
I don't know.
I feel like Val and Jenna, his wife,
I feel like they always get the good costumes.
I know.
Yeah, it's a little bit of that.
Bias that maybe is floating around online.
But yeah, they were really good.
And then that put, I think, Jenna Dewan and Harry both at the top.
It did.
Those two dances.
Yeah.
So that was interesting.
Because they both got perfect scores.
Yes.
Which is crazy.
And then they had to determine,
because they were both at the top, who gets...
Immunity next week.
Right.
Yes.
So they had to.
Based on their combined scores for the first like dance
and then the group dance.
And I believe it was.
Harry and Jenna get immunity next week.
So that'll be interesting to see.
And then we had Connor doing Tangled.
Such a perfect choice.
Yeah.
I agreed.
One of the judges said this looked like a first dance at a wedding.
Yeah.
It was so sweet, so romantic.
I can't take it.
And people have been, even though I tried
to break up Riley and her boyfriend,
people have been shipping her and Connor.
So I think that aspect, too, is.
Kind of helping them a little bit.
It's easy to lean into when you have that chemistry already.
For sure.
Yeah.
I mean, they like almost kissed on like the second dance.
Yeah, exactly.
So they've been teasing us for weeks.
Definitely.
But that was really pretty.
It was.
A few more comments about you got to be the leader man here.
Yeah, I know.
Which he totally did for Halloween.
For sure.
So I think we'll get it again next week.
Hopefully, yeah.
Because I feel like it was easier for him last week
because he was like, she was the doll.
And he had to control her.
But hopefully now that he has a sense of what that feels like,
he can take it forward.
I don't know.
I believe in Connor.
No, I believe in Connor.
And I, yeah, I keep going back and forth on him.
But like he is...
Killing it.
He is actually getting better.
I think him and Tatiana are the ones
that you can look at with no experience who have
come such a far.
Totally.
Totally.
Yeah.
I want to see the other girl.
Yeah, for sure.
So then we had the group dances,
which was High School Musical and Zootopia.
Random.
So I don't know.
how I feel about those being the choices.
I didn't really like it. Yeah. Because everyone
knows High School Musical. Totally. It's iconic.
Everyone has heard those songs a million times.
They had an edge because they could use some of the dances.
The dance moves a thousand percent.
Which that just brings me right back. Zootopia.
I've never heard the song before in my life. And Zootopia
2 rather. Yeah. I've never heard this song before in my life.
Yeah. So a little I don't know if that was
a bias or not but I feel like that was like
a little it's always hard when you get the song
or the theme that isn't known. As popular totally.
So High School Musical Group obviously did pull it
off. They did. The Zootopia Girls.
The one dance move that they kept doing with like the pointing
down and shaking it like took them over.
It's intense. It was intense but I love that. I was
like there's an earthquake happening.
But the Zootopia Girls were obviously like so fun to
watch and I really think that it was like.
A very wholesome group, and they were all just encouraging each other.
Yeah, they were.
And then High School Musical was, like, cut.
It was.
Yeah, which I think added, like you said, the edge.
Yeah.
Which, like, the judges always like.
I know, yeah.
So, good for them.
It was a good show for both of those groups.
And then, yeah, Julia went home at the end.
It was a little uneventful, I would say.
I think they've just been really grateful
to be a part of it for a while.
For sure.
And especially with the only, like,
A few days.
Like, it's like way less now.
And then Jenna is still filming.
Harry is still filming.
So it's like, oh my God, I'll have to cram two dances.
Yeah.
It's very impressive.
But next week is Grammy night.
Yeah.
So that'll be fun.
I always love Grammy night.
Yeah, me too.
I wonder, did they say who the guest judge was going to be?
I have not heard.
So we'll have to tune in.
We'll see.
Yeah.
But it'll be good.
I mean, Grammy night and then we're in the semifinals.
Oh my God.
Oh my gosh. So excited. Yeah.
It's going to be a very intense few weeks. I literally have no idea.
Usually I have a pretty good guess about like
who is going to go home next week. Yeah.
No, I think it's such a tough competition now.
And now, too, it is, like, every single person is a favorite.
Totally.
That it's going to be sad.
I know.
I know.
God, I literally couldn't even tell you.
And especially, I still ride on the hill or whatever, die on the hill.
Yeah.
That the vowel thing kind of helped them a little bit.
I think so, too, because they came back with a vengeance number one.
Yeah.
Jenna?
Kind of rallied, Jenna Dewan kind of rallied some people behind her.
Totally.
Because I feel like she didn't have the support that she has now.
Still an amazing performer.
That was never out of the question.
Yeah, but now I do think she has, like, a big fan base.
So it's interesting if, like, Val and Jenna are,
like, against each other at the top.
Oh, I agree.
Because I'm trying to remember last year it was...
Alex Earl, right, with Val.
Yeah.
And Robert Irwin.
With Whitney.
With Whitney.
So this, yeah, the married couples in this, the pros,
they have to be, like, really feeling it at home right now.
True, especially with Danielle and Pasha.
Oh, it's literally all married couples.
Yeah.
Oh, my, this cannot be good.
And then Mark and Riley, yeah.
Oh, yeah, true.
So they're just, like, the happy little siblings, probably.
Yeah.
But the married couples, like, that's intense.
Wow.
Oh, my gosh.
Guess we'll see.
That'd be kind of fun to see if it's married, unmarried couple.
House divided, for sure.
House divided.
Well, let us know who you think is going to go home,
because I'm very curious at this point.
Is it obvious to you guys?
I don't know.
Yeah, I'm not seeing like clear answers anywhere online.
So yeah, definitely tune in.
Let us know who goes home next week.
For sure.
It'll be interesting.
It'll definitely be interesting.
And we'll definitely be back to chat all about it.
See you next week.
