DWTS Drama Erupts Between Jenna Johnson and Carrie Ann Inaba | Previously On Podcast

Welcome back Previously On. I'm Alexa Clone. And I'm Kristen Toole. And we are back. This is probably the most drama-filled episode we've had of Dancing with the Stars so far. Yes. The tension, you could cut it with a knife. The tension was there in the moment, and it is still here several days later. Yes, and we got another elimination. This one, I can't say was too shocking, but Guillermo our beloved was sent home our dear beloved our dearly departed no no no he is perfectly fine still safe with Jimmy Kimmel but he is no longer on Dancing with the Stars which yeah people have kind of been waiting for it expecting it but also keeping him around because he's fun I'm pretty impressed with his work to be honest I think so too and with Whitney's I mean she this episode was held up in the air in the splits in a split in a split Meanwhile, 20, 21 weeks pregnant, something like that. It's insane. Yes. Like, she's the real winner here. But I think it was time for them to go. To go, yeah. We had a little off-camera discussion. We think that if Guillermo stayed a little bit longer, too, it might have caused a little bit of backlash. Right, because there are other people in this competition now who are insane. Exactly. And so to have him kind of in the same realm as them, I could see could give him a little bit of heat. Yeah, I think so. And I think, obviously, the competition is just going to get so much harder in these coming weeks. So, okay, we had our fun and games the first, like, five weeks. And now it's like, okay, let's let the people who are actually, like, grinding and doing crazy stuff on that dance floor the full chance. For sure. And he was just getting low scores anyways. So, like, now I'm curious to see all those Guillermo voters. Like, where do they funnel off to? Yeah, that's a great point. Are they going to pick now? Because if you were only rooting for America's Sweetheart, Yes. Who's your favorite now? Ezra Frech, I could see them all going to. Because he's also kind of like an America's Sweetheart right now. I think so, too. And also, maybe Jackson, the Savannah Bananas guy. I think he would need it. I think he needs it. But I'm also, I mean, we've been saying this, so surprised every time he makes it further and further. And to his defense, I do think he's getting better. Yeah, I think so, too. Yeah. And bummer for him. they did not win the banana bowl I think that was our theory was a little correct that they probably kept him a little cross promotion I think so and what a bummer it would have been for him if he lost the banana bowl and then also got eliminated yeah but yeah nonetheless Guillermo took the fall for him this week we'll see what happens next week but also shout out to Guillermo and Whitney because that performance they were channeling Bad Bunny and Rihanna so good I loved it it was so fun And obviously the split moment was iconic. And I saw some of the behind the scenes where they were getting ready to prop her up, which yeah, testament to every single person working on that. No, it's incredible. And the fact that when he did get sent home, like he was just so positive about it. And then everyone started chanting for him. Yes, it's so funny. I clocked that too. And I was like, you know what? Every other person who's got sent home, it's tears. It's trauma. It's sadness, madness. Yep. But this was a full celebration. everyone was laughing cheering cheering him on so yeah if you're gonna go out that's the way to do a thousand percent on good terms yes i'm sure he'll be back for a cameo or maybe even the tour yes and i saw i bet he's in the on the tour for la at least maybe um and i saw a little clip of him and Guillermo right after he got eliminated and he said you know my goal was to lose some weight and i did so heck yeah i will say i mean this is kind of the time where they start like their bodies start changing they get ripped a little bit and i've kind of noticed in like some of them obviously i'm not like judging their appearance but you do notice that they're starting to get their arms sharper and like their features are changing because they're working out all and they're working muscles that we would never work a thousand percent and alex early even said this she was like i need to keep my like eight pack that i got from dancing with the stars i'm like impressive i would do it just for that yes good for guillermo guillermo we love you i'm sure we will be seeing more of you obviously we'll still see whitney throughout the rest of the season popping in and out with the troops until she pops that baby out yeah maybe we'll have a baby at the end yeah oh that'd be so cute yes so that was obviously the biggest moment but then the one that has taken the internet by storm is the drama between jenna johnson the pro with paired up with harry right now with carrie annanava i'm so excited to talk about this yes because literally watching it was like oh i was like no and then they like went back and forth i was like instantly awkward she had that paper ready so basically what happened is that jenna and harry they had their dance and it was ready for them to do some critiques and the judges were being really critical i feel like usually they like hype jenna up yes but this time they were like your choreography needs to be better it wasn't even about harry no no no this you're so right this was not about harry which usually it is you know you're working on the pro or sorry you're working on the celebrity right to get better each week but this was kind of tearing jenna down great coming for jenna and yeah carrie ann she hates her lifts yes one thing about carrie ann she hates a lift and she said you also had a lift at like the end right jenna responds and she goes a lift yes i was like oh and then carrie ann didn't even let them move forward she pulled out a piece of paper that i guess has definitions of technique and gave the full definition of what a lift is right which is when someone is what lifted up both of their feet come off the ground supported by she said supported by the partner partner which that has caused some drama since as well since jenna herself did not do the lift right but then also people were like but technically troop is your partner for that dance so it would count yes i don't know but i will tell you that skybox was no they were heated and obviously online there's been a lot of posts about it jenna you said you saw her yeah she posted like on her instagram story or tiktok or something and was just like so appreciated for all the kind comments i've been crying like had a good cry i'm just like wow like you don't realize this show is emotional brutal yeah and val her husband also another pro has been in the comments defending her as well saying well by that definition we had a lift too so there's a lot of confusion about that yeah i don't really know i wouldn't know the difference i guess with your partner i would assume it's like jenna lifting right totally so i actually saw a tweet that i printed off because i was like this is good information for me that ballroom dance knowledge for Dancing with the Stars fans. Here we go. Ballroom, waltz, Viennese waltz, foxtrot, tango, quickstep. Those are all the ballroom dances. Got it. Then we've got Latin. That's cha-cha, samba, rumba, paso doble, jive. All of these dances are not allowed to have lifts. Oh, like it's forbidden. Right. Which that's a lot of the dances. Wait, that's like all of them. Yes. But then we have specialties. So there's salsa, jazz, tango, contemporary. Those ones are allowed to have lifts. And so what was theirs? Do we know? I'm sure someone knows, but I don't remember. Wait, let's Google it because I have to know now. Yes, which is very interesting. Obviously that, you know, clearly if people are posting, you know, full definitions of lifts online, this has created a lot of drama. For sure. And then it's kind of like, well, do you reconfigure your entire choreography for the next dance because you know that she is like fully cracking down? Exactly. Like we've brought this whole new definition. like now it's like okay well it's just a rule that you can't lift anybody yes so they did for super bowl night jenna and harry shum jr danced to yeah by usher and it was a samba okay so is that that's a latin dance, not a lot of lifts not allowed okay yeah we've cracked the code literally so sorry Harry maybe we're on Harry's side but i don't know yeah that anything it got a little heated it did Carrie Ann seemed to be like fine at the end of it and Jenna was like oh take the note but you could tell she was yeah upset about it which I also like that sometimes when they fully get called out by the judges they like come back with a vengeance the next week so that could add a little bit of it could add a little spice to next week I'm excited she's a great choreographer so regardless it was entertaining to watch lift or not yes and then I would say the other standout moment for me was Julia Stiles finally recreating some of the dance yeah the last dance this is so good so cool and they had her co-star there with the jacket over the shoulder doing his iconic yeah dreamy gaze as she's pulling it off yeah so that was so fun and i love too that Ezra her choreographer her partner was saying you know what we're not sticking to the jazz rules this is for the millennials i thought that it was interesting too for them to not even care about the judges yeah didn't care about the judges didn't care about the scoring when it came to that just wanted the iconicness but then the judges weren't not critical yeah i was like okay so very much case by case right i did see a lot of people saying okay so if you say in advance you're not following the rules you're allowed to get away with it right it seems like it i mean good for them and it worked and it worked it was so fun it was good And I think she's also getting better, too. I think so, too. So much more confident. And it's just, like, so fun to, like, watch her embrace it. This was probably, like, a big lead up, too, of, like, okay, we got to use these dance moves. And she said she's been waiting to have this moment for, like, 25 years. Wow. So I also feel like, okay, you did it. And it was a huge hit. Now you just get to have fun. A thousand percent. Yeah. No, I'm happy for them. I think that they're going to have a couple more moves, at least, in them because of that. Yes. I think some of the votes maybe to Guillermo might go to her. Yeah, that's a great point. So we'll see. But I just have to bring it up to you because you brought up Val standing up for Jenna. Another fella that I've noticed that has been standing up to his girl, Riley's boyfriend. Did you see this? I did not. Please tell me everything. Yeah, so I guess, again, maybe I fell for another AI thing. Someone might have to fact check me. I tried to break them up a couple weeks ago. So maybe this will have to be fact checked. But we'll see. It's a roller coaster. Yeah, it really is. But regardless if this comment is real or not, a lot of people were saying that Riley just kind of doesn't really get a lot of great votes from the judges the scoring is always kind of on the lower side and I saw that he had commented and was like oh yet again we're like Riley it's like I don't know underestimated I guess yeah so I kind of noticed that too I feel like yeah Connor is really getting better I mean yes his hips did not lie no the hips the pants I loved it this is a fake hair moment he does and he kind of rocks no he does which makes me we said this last time makes me even more excited for the halloween episode once they get to that point hopefully they do to really see what this man comes up with yeah i cannot wait and he's just so funny and fun to watch funny so i don't know i kind of hope that their scores go up a little bit yeah it seems like everyone else is kind of getting a boost but i i have seen a lot of his fans as well really coming for the judges scores and really emphasizing that we're all underestimating this man a thousand percent yeah I think they're great yeah I just thought that was a little fun to you too I love when people stick up for like their significant other yeah of course and you know what like you're you're saying we haven't heard from Riley's boyfriend all that often so I like this coming out of the woodwork I love it yes that's great who else did you love or who else did you hate I find it interesting that Tyler Cameron got the same score from Carrie Ann as Amber Glenn did yes a lot of people were talking about yeah I thought that was it's always like because you never really you don't see the side by side until the end it's like the leaderboard and then you're like oh wait a second those people are close to each other right and then you go back and you really think like judge by judge like oh you thought this dance was also as good as this day yeah it's like I did think that was interesting I feel like Amber Glenn is also being so underrated right now well she's being critiqued so hard yeah which maybe yeah because she started so strong and maybe because she does have this obviously she's not a dancer but ice skater it translates a little bit um i don't know but i thought this dance was so insane like this could have been a halftime performance a thousand percent they killed it they had the towels the props all about the floor i i thought they were amazing and you can't say the same about tyler's performance and it's still good i mean sharna's an amazing choreographer and he is getting better a thousand percent but he's not at the same level as her totally yeah so i thought that was pretty interesting i did see people comment about that yes yeah yeah i need to start like breaking down what the judges vote for each one yeah that's a great leaderboard which you know a lot of people again are saying not so much this week but just the fact that there really is no transparency how the voting numbers and the judges scores get added up this mathematical formula that they might have that they're like cooking up in the back live on air yes yes I don't know I don't know either I think it would help the fan base a little bit if they were a little more transparent on that again Guillermo maybe not this example right so so perfect but some of the other ones it would have helped yeah I think it's definitely probably better if we just don't know how it works yeah and we just think that our votes count and just kind of see where the no that's great yeah I I can see that so yeah um a few others we have oh I will say going back to Val Jenna Dewan we've talked about Harry working on Grey's Anatomy we've talked about Jackson he was still doing Banana Bull or the games that he was in but jenna is also still filming The Rookie yeah i didn't know that we have not discussed that i don't know that it was ever brought up until this episode same i seen her and i was like wait what is she doing in uniform and then i was like oh my god she's filming a show yeah which maybe they were also saying you know what all these boys are getting a pass for double booking or working yep two different jobs and she was like you know what so am I yeah she needed to get that out there yeah I think it actually helped a little bit I think it helped too people were like she came in as a dancer we thought she would be a little bit better but then she's like no girl I've got like a full-time job yeah and I would say this dance of theirs was my favorite yeah same yeah so she really brought the energy for this one and yeah I think proved even more that she's in this competition for the long run I think so too she wants that mirror ball yes yes yes and then obviously Ezra he's been my favorite for so long he's just knocking it out the park every single time so good yeah his prosthetic bedazzled gorgeous I want to know like did someone actually have to like piece by piece bedazzle that or did he have one like ready does he have one in every color yeah maybe like I have so many questions bedazzled yes that we'll find out maybe eventually but i will say i really do love that they incorporate you know a shorter pant or the bedazzling they're really making all of him a big part of this yeah i think i love that the costume department and makeup department is always so good yeah every year they just are so impressive the park yes so i think those were some of the big ones and i have to say random shout out Justin Baldoni was in the audience Justin Baldoni yeah that was crazy strange which apparently him and Julianne Hough worked together on a docu-series about 10 years ago right right so now he's coming out of the woodwork to be like hey i'm here to support you Julianne there was some discussion in this office yep should we see him on Dancing with the Stars oh i feel like only if they also have Blake Lively oh gosh like we need to see head to head that would be the most insane competition that would i think break records for Dancing with the Stars yes ABC if you're listening get to writing yeah there might be something there, there might be something but my entire feed was like, was that just Justin so so bizarre, so funny, so hard to just yeah very interesting also shout out Joe Buck our judge, he did good sports analysis, sports anchor, he did do a great job and honestly he was just having a good time, I know I love when they just like give high scores, the guest, I would do the same thing, I'd be like nah it's a 10, he was thrown around some nines, maybe weren't necessary, but yeah he was having a good time, yeah this was a great episode, I didn't know how they were gonna do the Super Bowl, thought they were maybe we're gonna announce the Super Bowl halftime performer, I'm waiting for that, we're still waiting yeah so we'll see what happens, we'll see, but yeah all together fun episode, fun episode, not devastating, not shocking really but like just a good fun right, a little bit of drama and yeah nobody, no, and I can't wait to see where that one goes, same I I hope it elevates yes Jenna to just like want to stick it to her, I think both feet on the ground oh yeah she's coming ten toes down, yes I love it, well good, I can't wait to see next week yeah comment below if you guys think it was a little heated between Jenna, if
