Meet pet influencer Max the Fluffy Corgi

He's my inspiration, truly, like he is a star and I just do my best to bring other people into his little world. It was his first time trying out swimming, so we threw a little life jacket on him. We didn't know if he was gonna love the water, hate the water, but I definitely wanted to capture it. He was having the time of his life. That one's got like 4.8 million views now. So this is Max. He is a fluffy Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He's just over one year old. I just started the Instagram account because... I just love sharing how cute he is. I wanted to document him growing up from a tiny little puppy into the dog that he is right now. When we create accounts for our pets, we create a way to express identity, values, and to speak about a very meaningful relationship in our lives. And in a way that we also can create connections with others. People might... They create a persona and then through the pet they will speak about the pet, but they also will speak about themselves. When they are speaking through the pet, sometimes they might feel more comfortable as well. They might feel like there's no judgment. I'm not speaking about myself, it's my pet speaking here. So there is some type of emotional protection, I think, when we also do this through the pet. Having the Instagram account has allowed me to document his life. Dogs don't live forever, so it's a great way to just kind of keep his little memories and that around forever.
