Video shows brawl that led to teen stabbed on Long Island

Happened right around dismissal according to school officials and both the victim as well as the alleged stabber are students here and tonight we're getting a look at some of the video taken. We did blur the faces because they are minors. That's fun! You can hear students screaming, someone shouting, yes, yes, as students watch it all unfold. Suffolk County Police say it happened around 2 o'clock this afternoon. As students were being dismissed, the 16-year-old was rushed to the hospital and is in serious condition. As for the 15-year-old, accused of stabbing him, he has since been arrested. A large police presence followed what appeared to have been a brawl. One parent we spoke with says she learned about it on social media, not from the school. Oh, I saw it reported on Facebook, actually. And so did the school notify you? No. Pretty scary that a kid has a knife in a school. Pretty scary. And in a statement, the district says, quote, the health, safety and welfare of our students remain our highest priority as a district. It goes on to say the district will proactively work with our own security team and the Suffolk County Police Department to address those concerns. And back out here tonight, police have not released any details about what may have sparked the stabbing, and they didn't elaborate on how the two students knew each other.
