The Miami Heat are walking
into an absolute must-win game tonight against the LA Clippers.
And no, that is not an exaggeration.
That is not hyperbole by any means.
This Miami Heat team has severely
struggled up to this point in the year,
which has resulted in multiple trade conversations,
not only involving star players like Bam Adebayo,
which again, video will be out tomorrow, if not later tonight.
Check that out as we broke down all of the moving parts.
But also the idea that they have to go out there
and trade for other all-star caliber players
despite already depleting all of their assets in order to get Giannis.
They're in a very difficult spot.
But the best way to make it all disappear is by going out there
and producing, winning,
and playing at a very high level based off how they
are currently constructed up to this point.
So we are going to break down all
of the moving parts in the latest update
surrounding the Heat and the LA Clippers.
And why this is an absolute must win
and why the Heat are in a good position to do so tonight.
So let's get to it and break down how the Heat
and the Clippers both need a desperate reset to say the absolute least.
And we're going to start with the Eastern Conference standings
and where the Heat currently find themselves.
Number 10 in the East, which is not, not,
or number 10 in the East, not number 10.
Number 10 in the Eastern Conference
at 2-5 after dropping last night's game to the LA Lakers,
Which started.
Arguably the most daunting month of the NBA season as the vast majority
of games come against the Western Conference on the West Coast.
But also when they come back East,
they have games like the Pistons, the Cavs twice.
The Sixers. This is going to be a very, very,
very daunting schedule, at least for the month
of November. And they need to go out there
and they need to capitalize in games. They're in
position to do so before the tip off even begins.
And the L.A. Clippers are a perfect example of
that. They don't have a Luca. They don't have one
of those big name stars that are absolutely
going to crush you because of how shorthanded they currently are.
Right now, they currently
We currently sit in the 13th seed in the Western Conference,
tied for the last place.
I should mention, as there's a three-way tie
for 15th in the Western Conference.
The Clippers are 1-6 and being led by Darius Garland,
who, granted, is a good player, but
should not be the guy that kills this Miami Heat team.
We know the Heat have not been great,
especially when it comes to defensive overall abilities
and their inability to rebound have been highlighted
and made abundantly clear through
this point in the season through seven NBA games.
Top five in assists, top five in field goal percentage,
top 10 in points scored, but 22nd
in rebounding, 23rd in offensive rebounding,
28th in free throw percentage, overall not
getting the job done.
And for the Clippers, fourth in steals,
fifth in three-point percentage, seventh in free
throws, they don't block a lot of shots,
they don't rebound all that well, they're even
worse than Miami, which is surprising.
And they are dead last in fewest turnovers, which is crazy to say.
Now, before we get to the rest of the news,
we do have to thank our sponsor for this video,
Kalshi, as you can trade yes
or no contracts on Kalshi on practically anything.
GTA 6 release date, weather, politics,
any sporting events, everything and anything in
between.
And tonight you can jump in on the action with.
The Miami Heat and the LA Clippers taking a winner
or a loser by trading a yes or no
contract, and right now you can trade yes.
For this Heat team to win, $25 pays $36.98,
but I know you may be saying, for $11, why
make that trade?
Well, with Kalshi and the link used down
in the description or in the pinned comment
and use code DIGESTNBA when signing up,
you get $55 added to your account instantly when
making your first $25 trade.
You really can't lose.
Again, use that link down below.
It helps his channel a ton.
We do appreciate it.
But now back to the conversation at hand
and the stars that will be on display tonight
for the Heat and the LA Clippers.
First, Giannis.
We all know he's on an MVP caliber run right now.
28 and a half points, 12 boards,
nearly six assists per game.
Absolute dominance from Giannis
and it's exactly what Heat Nation
and this Heat organization expected to see from him
when they move mountains in order to go out
and acquire him this past offseason.
For the Clippers, they are playing without
Darius Garland, or excuse me, they're playing
without Brandon Ingram.
They're playing without guys like Bradley Beal and various others.
That puts them in a very difficult situation,
which leads you to believe this Miami Heat
team absolutely cannot drop this game.
Not only are you playing a 1-6 team in the LA Clippers,
but they do not have any of their
firepower, which has
been on full display all season long, and why they are 1-6.
Again, no Bradley Beal, no Brandon Ingram,
just to name the two big names for this Clipper
organization.
Don't get me wrong.
Garland is still there.
They still have a few other complimentary players
that are going to make an impact tonight.
But the Miami Heat, based off
of how they're constructed compared to the Clippers, should
absolutely dominate this game.
Garland's been walking 22 rebounds,
six and a half assists per game, but he should absolutely
not go out there and just destroy this Heat team.
The last three games compared to the first four for Giannis,
the numbers are basically up across
the board outside of the overall points.
Two-tenths of a point difference, not much.
But again, you look at the overall numbers in his last three games.
In 34 minutes, 30 points, 12 boards,
7 assists, 58.8% field goal percentage.
One steal, two blocks.
The game against Indiana, 31-18-10 on 13 of 19 shooting.
The game against Atlanta, three games ago, 24-18-3.
He has been absolutely dominant,
and there's no other way to shape it out.
Now, the big question is going to be Bam Adebayo.
He has not been nearly as good.
Yes, those two wins for this Heat team,
the only two wins of this NBA season,
Bam was fantastic, 24-8-3.
Excuse me, 24-9-3 against Atlanta.
On 50% shooting.
The game against Indiana, 27-9-3.
On 11-14 shooting, 78.5%.
Then the last game against the Lakers,
he goes back to normalcy, what has been his normalcy.
Eight or 16 points, nine boards,
four assists on just 10 attempts from the field.
It cannot happen.
He needs to shoot the ball more.
He needs to remain aggressive and he needs to get the job done.
I can't wait to see the matchup
for De'Veon Mitchell tonight against Darius Garland.
He has really been one of the bright points
for this team all season long, but he's going
to have his hands full with the number one option
on the Clippers in Darius Garland,
but no big task.
De'Veon, as he's been phenomenal his entire career against
or on the defensive end against
any guard for that matter.
Now, I will mention Bam Adebayo.
We need him to step up.
Absolutely.
But his last five games against the Clippers, the numbers are up.
Thank God.
If you look at the numbers in the production outside
of just three games ago, what would
that be?
3-12 of the 24-25 season was really
the worst game he's had against them where he shot two
of seven from the field.
His last two games last season.
27-14-3 on 58% shooting, again 10-17,
the first game against the Clippers last year.
25-10-4 on 10-18 shooting from the field.
He added two blocks, two steals in that first game,
two steals, no blocks in the second game.
Overall, he's had his number against the LA Clippers,
and tonight we need to see it again
in order for this Heat team to be successful.
And for some of this conversation surrounding
this Heat team, that is all negative.
To just slowly dissipate and go away,
or this is going to be a very, very long season.
We highlighted the overall injury report for the Clippers.
Let's quickly go through the Heat, because there's not much there.
Thankfully, Giannis was listed as probable,
but outside of that, there's no one else on
this injury report for the Miami Heat.
He is going to be playing tonight against the LA Clippers.
Thank God, because if he wasn't, it would be Bam.
The magnifying glass on Bam Adebayo would be insurmountable,
to say the absolute least.
Something to point out here, just
a staggering turnovers numbers to start the season from
Garland.
He led the league in total turnovers
with 38 despite playing 53 fewer minutes than the
number two guy, Lakers guard Austin Reeves,
who had turnover problems of his own.
So De'Veon has this overall matchup.
I think it's going to be good for the Heat.
They are going to be able to create a lot of turnovers
and they will be in a good position
to go out there and be successful.
We will be doing a watch along for this game.
It does not start until 10:30 Eastern Standard Time.
So be on the lookout for that.
