And that's what a few travelers have actually said to us
this morning is that it's just another added cost to their.
Already expensive travel plans.
You know, this is the second time
that JetBlue has raised their checked bag fees over the
last year, and travelers are not happy about it,
especially going into the holiday season.
The airline says it's because of tensions in the Middle East
and rising cost of jet
fuel prices.
But here's what you need to know.
If you are buying it, if you bought a ticket
on or after November 3rd, you'll pay at least
$50 each way for your first checked bag.
Now, that's up from $39, and the prices are even higher.
even higher over peak holiday travel times.
Travelers will pay $55 if you pay at least
24 hours before the flight,
but those who wait until the final 24 hours will pay $60
during off-peak periods and $70 during peak periods.
There are new fees for second bags
as well, starting at $70 each way during off-peak periods
and $75 during peak travel. This has
people flying any airline here at MacArthur Airport frustrated
and worried about what
this could mean for them.
I guess they have to do something,
but it was a shock when I, you know, online to do it.
$45? I thought I did something wrong.
We've reached out to other airports that operate here
at MacArthur Airport to see if they're doing the same.
We'll let you know when we hear back.
