Midterm elections deliver historic firsts for minority leaders

The 2026 midterm elections will definitely be one for the history books. Not only did the Democrats have several monumental victories, it was also a first for many minorities in higher positions of power. Take a look. In big and small ways, you've shown that no amount of money will ever, ever, ever overcome the power of the people. I want to say thank you. for placing your faith in me. That's ultimately what voting is. A tremendous act of faith, not faith in one person or party, but faith in the idea that elections matter. Tonight, Florida, I want to send a special thank you to all of the people of this great state. Even if you didn't vote for me, you have my word that I will be your governor too. That we will continue growing our economy and make our state less dependent on an unreliable Washington, D.C. That means more jobs, it means higher wages, and it means making sure that more Marylanders are building wealth. It's nice to see a woman in charge. Just off this mother road my grandparents taught me the importance of hard work, our responsibility to care for our earth, and our duty to look out for our neighbors. This place, this land, shaped who I am. Tonight Texas we answered and we did not whisper. That was perfect. Wow. We answered loud enough for every billionaire, every lobbyist, and every corrupt politician. In Austin, Tahir, Texas belongs to us. We forged a new kind of politics here in the Lone Star State. An answer to this decade of division. We showed that when working people come together across every dividing line, we can do extraordinary things. We won this race because people who are desperate for change now are going to get change. We'll be right back.
