Video: Shelia Edwards elected to Georgia Public Service Commission
Nov 4, 2026
We were out there, we were the voice, but our voices were echoing
those voices of people across the state who couldn't
and didn't have the microphone or the megaphone to be able to talk.
This has not been an easy race.
We've come across a number of different things,
a lot of negative people, even today.
Um, maybe negativity showing itself,
but I always characterize it as the devil, and the
devil's trying to make his presence known,
but we have God on our side, we have the wind
at our sail, and we're going to make this thing happen tonight.
This is history.
We're about to turn around and turn the PSC
and flip it as someone was telling me this
would be the first time since 1995
that the PSC could be a democratic control.
That means that people are going to be at the forefront of decisions.
It means climate is going to be at the forefront of decisions.
I feel like we're making decisions
for the quality of life that Georgians deserve,
not for monopoly companies or coal companies or data centers
or all of those things that are suddenly bombarding our state.
We have to make sure that we're taking
care of the people that live here
and the people that will come after them,
children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
We have to make sure we're leaving
this place a better place for everybody.
And that starts with us at the PSC.
And you have my pledge.
My pledge is that once I get there
and start working with Peter, we're going to tackle
a lot of the issues that you guys have raised.
We're not going to kick a can down the road.
We're going to make sure that it's brought to the forefront
and there's a true discussion.
And my desire is that the other Republicans
on the commission will follow suit,
realize that they can't continue down the path that they've been on,
and follow us as we make sure that we're putting
the public back into the Public Service Commission.
