Democrat Annie Andrews unseats Lindsey Graham in Senate upset

Thank you. It's 8:15. Now Democrats have won control of Congress and the shock of the night was South Carolina rejecting Lindsey Graham in a deep red territory for Democrat Annie Andrews. South Carolina has not elected a Democrat senator in nearly 30 years. And Fox's Chelsea Torres joins us live from Charleston with reaction from there. Chelsea, good morning. This one's very surprising. It was one of the biggest upsets. I think there, you know, a lot of voters also feel the same way. Many of them told me that they were completely shocked. And that's because many South Carolinians here said that they've never seen a Democrat win the Senate seat. You know, the latest Fox News voter poll, which surveyed South Carolina voters, even found out Andrews did well with women, college graduates and urban voters. Their main issue, the economy, an issue Andrews pushed during her campaign. After the race was called, Andrews stepped on stage with her family, telling voters... voters, she got a call from her opponent, Republican Darlene Graham, who congratulated her. She also told supporters about her plans for when she gets to Washington, vowing to be an independent voice who works with both parties. The thousands of people who welcomed us into their homes, their churches, their businesses, and onto their front porches, thank you so much. And to the Republicans, independents, and Democrats who took a chance on a pediatrician and a mom of three. Because you believe that South Carolina should come first, thank you. Meanwhile, Darlene Graham also addressed her supporters, thanking her staff and President Trump. She also talked about losing her brother and how it made the Senate run difficult. Now, as you had mentioned, there were several upsets across the country, now with Democrats also taking the House and Senate. But President Trump did say that he felt bad for Lindsey, and he definitely said that he thought a lot of these Republicans would do much better. In Charleston, South Carolina, Chelsea Torres, Fox 5 News. All right, Chelsea, thank you for that live update from Charleston. Your time is now 8:17 and coming up on Good Day at Live.
