AI GeneratedState Senator Brian Strickland is preparing for election night as he runs for Attorney General. He emphasizes the importance of earning every vote in Georgia's current status as a swing state, arguing that this political climate encourages candidates to develop messages that resonate with all citizens regardless of party affiliation.
On the Republican side, we'll head now to Fox 5's Kevin Stewart,
where State Senator Brian Strickland is preparing for election night.
Kevin?
Yeah, the state senator is among a number
of statewide candidates for the GOP that are
gathering at a watch party tonight,
and that's what all these folks are filing in here for
now.
This is going to be a really exciting event.
We had a chance to catch up
with the state senator as he voted in McDonough.
He represents the eastern part of the metro area,
including Henry County, where he practices
law.
We had a chance to talk to him about several things,
including his endorsements.
He's really trumping up his endorsements by law enforcement.
He also had a chance to talk to us about Georgia being a purple state,
how we are a swing state, and how that impacts his campaign.
Take a listen.
Yeah, so it's what I'm used to.
I've lived here in Henry County this entire time. We've been in
Sweeney County for some time.
And so whether it be a primary or a general election, I've always
gone to all the voters. And I believe the message
that I've had as a state senator and state
representative, the message I have as attorney general,
is something that resonates with
everybody. It's not a Republican message.
It's not a Democrat message. And so to me, nothing
has changed. And the fact Georgia is now a swing state,
I think is a positive thing in the sense
that candidates have to go out there
and not just expect to win a primary.
But to have a message about what you're going
to do moving forward that impacts all Georgians.
Because when you're elected to serve, when I'm Attorney General,
I serve all 11 million Georgians, whether they voted for me or not.
And so I think it's a healthy thing.
It makes us go out and earn every single vote, every election.
Yes.
Yes.
But we are expecting a late night because this race,
like many on the ballot, are expected to be tight.
We will continue to stand by and wait for those votes to come in.
We're live in Sandy Springs.
