Well, the midterm elections are here,
and while turnout has been pretty strong so far,
what are the issues driving voters to the polls?
Fox 5's Meredith Gorman brings us the pulse of the people.
From Penn Station to Grand Central, commuters on the move
are carrying a heavy list of concerns into the voting booth.
When you speak of, you know, New York State or whatever
with the congestion pricing, you know, oil prices, you know,
and things like that, affordability, food, groceries, you know.
People will be homeless, more housing, you know, affordable housing.
Of course I voted.
Immigration, ice out of our neighborhoods, and affordability.
Corruption, I think.
I haven't voted yet, but I'm on my way to Long Beach to vote.
So I'll vote when I get out there.
So I'd say corruption and affordability.
It's not just the cost of living on people's minds.
Many voters point straight to the nation's sharp political divide.
And not everyone we spoke with plans to cast a ballot.
Democracy, yeah, definitely.
The economy and the direction of the two political parties.
I'm not voting at all.
While some chose to stay on the sidelines,
others insist skipping this election is impossible.
It was very important to vote.
So for voters, Election Day is a chance to make sure
their voices are heard on the issues that matter most to them.
Reporting from Penn Station, Meredith Gorman, Fox 5 News.
