One of the other major races is for the governor of Pennsylvania,
as we mentioned, incumbent Josh Shapiro, the projected winner,
giving the Democrat a second term in office.
Action News reporter Walter Perez is live from Shapiro headquarters
in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, with the latest.
Walter.
No surprises here tonight.
Governor Shapiro was projected to win big and he did. Shapiro's run
for second term comes with heavy speculation about his future.
Politically speaking, the presidential race is coming up in two years
and Shapiro has been very outspoken about his opposition
to the Trump administration policies. Now to be sure,
Shapiro has downplayed his presidential ambitions, but stay tuned.
Shapiro, by the way, has never lost a race.
From the State House, to Montgomery County Commissioner,
to Attorney General, to Governor,
and again tonight, he won.
Here's what he had to say a short time ago,
thanking the voters who supported him.
I know you want a government that reflects
the basic desires that we all share.
Good schools for our kids, safe neighborhoods,
a job that pays you for your hard work,
a faith, a faith that if we play it straight
and treat each other right,
Things should get better.
Mr. Shapiro also said that his opponent, Republican Stacy Garrity,
did call him graciously after conceding this race.
Here's what she had to say about her odds going into this race.
Yeah, absolutely. Has a lot of name recognition,
a lot of campaign cash.
And, you know, it's a difficult climate right now.
And a lot of things out of my control.
And so the question now is,
can Democrats in Pennsylvania win the House and the Senate?
If they do, they'll get the trifecta,
the first time that will have happened since 1993.

Walter Perez, Channel 6, Action News.
All right, Walter, thank you.
