I'm going to just give you a few comments and take your questions,
if that would work for y'all.
But obviously, the big day is here, and Georgia's ready.
Georgia, first of all, you need to understand,
we are the gold standard for election administration.
We have citizenship verification.
We've actually done three of them.
And we have clean, accurate voter rolls.
And we also have strong election security.
We've worked hard to earn that title.
Now, as it relates to having a clean voter list, don't take my word
for it, the Department of Audit found our list was 99.9%, and so we
really take a lot of pride in the hard work that our team has done.
Strong rules only work when good people put them into practice.
I also want to just acknowledge
and commend our county election officials and poll workers.
Thank you to these local leaders
for their preparation and professionalism.
We've seen Georgia's turnout
in record numbers during early voting today.
We're ready to welcome everyone who has waited until election day.
Getting ready for today is a year-round job,
not something that with a strong team,
and counties have strong teams also.
It's testing equipment, checking their systems,
training election workers, preparing for problems.
I want to let voters know if you haven't voted yet,
there's still time.
Actually, 25% is gone and like 75% left in the day. So,
we've already had three hours of voting.
So please, voters, be one of them with no excuses.
All the locations are open.
And so please get out there
and go to your assigned election day polling place and bring an accepted
photo ID.
Polls close at 7 p.m.
And if you're in line by 7 p.m., just remember, stay in line.
You will be allowed to vote.
This is the greatest state and the greatest country in the world.
And I'm just really grateful to have been your Secretary of State.
And this will be my last election.
Our government is run by the people.
They're the people that get to decide these things.
And today is their chance to exercise
their voice in the direction that they want.
I want to give you some updates.
I want to give you some updates.
I want to give you some updates.
I want to give you some updates.
I want to give you some updates.
I want to give you some updates.
There are people that get to decide these things, and today is their
chance to exercise their voice in the direction that they want.
I want to give you some updates.
I get excited about our data, you know, stuff, you know,
I think you would too, you see it up on the big board, but I had
to just kind of do a screenshot, and there it is, you know, we're at,
you know, about two minutes ago, 3,137,312, but another one right here,
let's blow this one up a little bit, and we are at 300,686,
you know, and that was like a minute before 10 o'clock,
so just multiply it by four, and then you're at 1.2 million per day.
Blake Evans, our state election director,
said we'd probably add 5% to that, where we are right now,
because not every location has self-service.
It's a big state, and we have some rural areas that are participating.
But that's just a very strong turnout.
So it looks like we're ahead of where we
were in 2022 in the gubernatorial.
We have 2,648 precincts
and 2,119 voting locations.
We have one precinct.
I hate to call them out because they work so hard,
but one pretty simple, which, okay,
they're just one of those things that happens every once
in a while, but I think it's a good
folks at Mitchell County, you know,
will forgive that fault and get out there and they need
10 minutes late at the end of the day.
They'll be adding that.
With Fulton, approximately 1,000 ballots
from the advance voting will be re-scanned as you
equipment was taken out of service as a precaution to
the screen errors, but this will not
delay the results in any way at the end of the day.
That's kind of where we are right now.
I didn't know if you had any questions yet.
Yes, sir.
Do you know the Department of Justice monitors
for several different counties?
Do you have an idea of what they're doing?
Are there any concerns?
They're just doing what we would do with our investigators,
and we also have our Democratic and Republican observers,
party observers.
We also have independent observers like the Carter Center,
so they're really just doing what they've been doing
for several cycles now,
probably since going back to the 80s or the 90s.
I think everything has been made any difference.
By the way, they know
what our rules are,
and I appreciate
everyone just kind
of explaining that.
