Suspect wounded in Bronx police-involved shooting

Very active scene here at 194th Street at Bainbridge Avenue in the Bronx is about four or five blocks up from the busy Fordham Road shopping section. And what happened here, Christian, let's push into the corner where it all happened in front of the Sammy Gourmet Deli here right on the corner of Bainbridge and 194th just before 3.30 this afternoon. The police are telling us that there was a man who was waving a gun and threatening some of the people that were on this block. It was very busy at this time at that time of the afternoon. And the police went over to him, the officers on patrol, they told him to stop and the man opened fire, police say, right at them. Luckily, none of the officers were injured or were hit. Police returned fire and were told that the suspect was shot twice on non-life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital. But as you can see the scene here. It's very, very active. The crime scene unit is here. There's many different detectives. There are still police officers arriving, detectives arriving as we speak, Natasha. But no passersby were injured. It was very, there's a very densely populated section of the Bronx here.
