A new training facility focused
on student athletes is now open in Holyoke.
22 News reporter Gabriela Villas-Boas joins us live
in the studio with more on Train 42.
That's right, Train 42 opened on High Street in Holyoke.
Today they celebrated a donation to support
the development of their recovery lounge.
Train 42 began in a garage during the COVID-19 pandemic
and now six years later they have a new
location in Holyoke featuring a lounge,
state-of-the-art turf and racks all sponsored
by local businesses. Today the facility received
a fifteen thousand dollar check
for the new designated Gary Rome Hyundai Recovery Lounge.
Train 42 is focused on
training students, some as young as six years old,
on their journeys as young athletes.
The big thing for us is you know we like to focus on winning the day.
We don't want to talk about yesterday or you know we're
not sure what tomorrow brings so we focus on winning the day
and we try to be consistent for them by having our space open to them.
The owner tells us that his driving factor was to come home
and give back to the community of Holyoke.
He says the facility highlights collaboration where kids can come in,
train and recover now with the new recovery lounge.
Train 42 is excited to continue supporting students working towards
their sporting careers in adolescence and beyond.
Working for you, I'm Gabriella Villas-Boas, 22 News.
