Happy Monday, everyone.
I'm meteorologist Claire Anderson in the Fox 13 Weather Center.
A cloudier day across western Washington, but a little bit milder.
It was cooler over the weekend.
Now, we do have morning clouds
and afternoon sunshine on Tuesday for Election Day.
So, good news for voters who are maybe heading out.
You don't need your rain jackets or umbrellas tomorrow.
You will need it Wednesday night into Thursday.
Rain returns.
We've got some active weather heading our way,
especially by the middle of the week through the end of the week.
And into the weekend, we've got several rain systems moving through
and soggy end of the week with some gusty winds,
high elevation mountains, no feeling more.
fall, almost winter-like here in the Pacific Northwest.
Let's talk about the sunset tracker.
Of course, we fell back an hour yesterday morning.
So the sunset today at 4.50, 4.40 in a week,
4.30 in two weeks, and 4.25 in three weeks.
I did some looking and digging. So the earliest sunset
here in Seattle is December 7th.
That is at 4.17. But the shortest day length?
That's December 21st, that is the winter solstice,
which the sun sets at 420.
So different things, again, but either way you put it,
It's going to be dark here for a bit.
So enjoy the sunshine you'll see tomorrow.
That's the silver lining.
Temperatures today were on the cooler side.
We're usually about 55 degrees this time of year.
We were only in the upper 40s to low 50s for western Washington.
Looking at the Doppler radar, mostly cloudy skies across the state.
We have a weak system moving in late tonight, early tomorrow morning,
bringing a few little sprinkles out along the coast,
still staying dry for most of western Washington into tomorrow.
Future cash shows, maybe a sprinkle or two along the straight
We start tomorrow again mostly cloudy,
but sun breaks into the afternoon,
especially from Mount Vernon southward through Tacoma, Olympia,
more clouds along the coast, as well as up in Bellingham,
even when actually seeing more sunshine.
Now, Tuesday night, we clear out. It'll be cool overnight
into our Wednesday morning fog to start the day.
Sun breaks, but by five o'clock,
we start to see our next round of showers
moving out along the coast.
A wet evening for western Washington.
Snow levels dropping into Thursday.
Scattered showers to start the day,
and that kind of continues through the afternoon time
before heavier rain Thursday night into Friday.
Now, here's a look at the snow level forecast.
It's that time of year.
Be ready for winter driving conditions.
Now, we're looking more at high elevation,
mountain snow, 5,000 feet and above,
Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
but of course, be ready for maybe a snowflake mixed in.
I want to show you here's Wednesday.
As we head into Wednesday night with the rain out along
the coast, winds are going to pick up.
So already looking to head through some
gustier conditions middle part of the week.
Temperatures tonight, upper 30s Centralia,
Olympia mid 40s, Seattle and Everett.
Highs tomorrow, enjoy this nice little bit of ridging.
We're going to see upper 50s, Tacoma, Seattle as well as Bremerton.
Central Puget Sound in the upper 50s,
even some 60s out towards Issaquah.
We do see those showers for Friday
with a few shower chances into the weekend as well.
