Suspect in custody after barricade in Lithonia area

In Lithonia, breaking news there. In the past hour, we spotted an ambulance pulling up to a scene of a SWAT standoff on Victoria Place. Now, this has been going on since around 6 o'clock this morning. And Fox 5 photojournalist Austin Haygood has been there monitoring the developments. What can you tell us now, Austin? Good morning. Good morning, Caitlin. Yes, it was a scary scene this morning with the DeKalb police and a barricaded suspect. We're on Victoria Place off of Marbet Road, just a short distance away from Lithonia High School. With the roads blocked by the police, this is affecting traffic in the immediate area, though I think this scene is dissolving and clearing out soon, so hopefully that traffic will be back to flowing normally here soon. This morning, we saw the police use just about every tool at their disposal, including an armored truck with a battering ram to break down the garage door of the property, canine units, drones, tear gas, and even what sounded like a flashbang grenade. Take a listen. We've also seen a steady stream of SWAT team members going in and out of the property since the breaching of the house took place. Again, this scene is pretty much cleared out at this point. We do have some remainder of police presence here. Yeah. And we did see someone being treated by medical personnel on the scene as well. Though it does seem now that the scene is clear, we have been told by DeKalb Police that a subject is now in custody and we are waiting for their details. And we'll get those details to you as soon as we get them. So, Caitlin, back to you. All right, Austin.
