Thanks. Four people are dead.
Several others injured after several shootings
in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas. Police questioning suspects.
As of right now, no charges have been filed.
T.C. Mozinga live outside Dallas police headquarters with the details
on these shootings. And this was like one after the other, T.C.
Yeah, absolutely. You're right, Lauren.
Such a devastating weekend for sure.
We do know, though, that two of the victims are women in their 20s.
Meantime, investigators are still trying to figure out
and determine what led up to three separate shootings,
as you mentioned, just blocks apart.
Now, according to Dallas police, they do or Dallas,
the Dallas County medical examiner, I should say,
21 year old Kenisa Scott and 28 year old unique Elise Benjamin
were killed over the weekend during Halloween celebrations.
Two others were killed as several others.
Now, Dallas police, they do say
that the first reported shooting happened just before 1230 a.m. Sunday
on Elm Street, the second one just after 1 a.m. on Main Street,
and then the third one on South Crowder Street.
This all happened very quickly early Sunday
with three different shootings in 75 minutes.
There have been arrests,
but no charges have been filed, and now neighbors
and city leaders say they are just over the senseless gun violence.
Makes you want to move.
But where do you move to?
It happens everywhere,
but right now Deep Ellum's getting a lion's share of bad stuff.
This is completely unacceptable for it to take place in Dallas.
The Deep Ellum Foundation released a statement saying, in part quote,
they are devastated and will hold listening sessions this week.
Now, this investigation is ongoing,
but police do say that they do not believe that the three shootings,
the three separate shootings, are connected.
But if anyone knows anything,
they're still being asked to call Dallas police as soon as possible.
Back to you guys.
All right, TC, thanks. And the U.S. Attorney's Office
for Northern Texas just announced that
they're having a news conference today at 1
to announce federal actions related to those
shootings in Deep Ellum. Interesting, because it's low.
You would think local would be doing
it, but apparently now a federal case, too.
We'll have more on that later on today on Fox 4.
