Disturbance near Bahamas could become subtropical

Thanks for logging on to myfoxhurricane.com.
29 days left in the hurricane season.
One area that we're watching to the east of the U.S.,
to the north and east of the Bahamas,
is an area we were talking about last week.
Small chance of something,
but some of the models are picking up on this
and trying to show at least some development
as we go towards the end of this week.
So in the short term, yeah, nothing's going to happen.
But over the next, say, five to seven days.
There is the possibility
that we maybe see something subtropical trying to develop.
This is what we were talking about last week,
just more of that moisture sitting to the east of the state
and over towards the Bahamas.
And I mentioned last week,
if anything were to happen, this would be the area,
because this is about the only area that we could see something.
And here we go, looking at the Fox weather model you see right now.
Things are quiet in this area.
We have some just very disorganized showers,
but watch as we go through time. There you see it right there starting
to develop as we head through Wednesday,
heading into Thursday and Friday, definitely starting to see the signs,
which looking a bit more like a comma shape here.
So maybe something a little more subtropical.
We have this old frontal boundary here.
So what we're really looking at is the potential of this area,
low pressure forming along that boundary
and maybe acquiring some tropical characteristics
as we head towards the end of the week.
So we'll continue to watch it.
It's not going to affect us as it would be moving away
and out over open waters,
but it's something that we'll watch
and we'll keep you updated right here on myfoxhurricane.com.
