These three orchids seem to have almost lost all hope of survival.
Their root systems are severely damaged,
with almost nothing left to continue growing.
But look at them now,
after just 60 days.
These three orchids seem
to have almost lost all hope of survival.
First, I use clean,
sanitized scissors to cut off
the damaged roots,
to all hope of survival.
I gently remove the roots
that are dry, rotten,
or severely damaged,
while carefully preserving
the firm,
healthy tissue that is still viable.
Patiently repeat the same process for all three orchids,
preparing them
for recovery and the
growth of new roots.
Now, gently rinse each orchid under running water
to remove dirt
and debris
clinging to the
remaining roots.
Next, I will prepare a cinnamon powder
disinfectant solution for this orchid
using 1.2
liters
of water.
Then, add one
spoonful
of cinnamon
powder.
Then, add
one spoonful
of cinnamon
powder.
Once the mixture has cooled,
I strain out the remaining residue to obtain a cleaner solution.
Add half a liter of clean water,
then stir once again to ensure all the ingredients are evenly combined.
Then gently place all three orchids into the prepared solution
and soak them for about 30 minutes.
While the orchids
are soaking,
I prepare three
clear plastic pots
for the next step.
Transparent pots help me observe the roots,
while drainage holes improve airflow around them.
This method helps maintain moisture around the base of each orchid.
Next, I use a spray bottle to lightly moisten
the paper with clean water,
just enough
to make it damp without
becoming soaked.
This method helps
maintain moisture
around
the base
of each orchid.
Before
placing
the orchids
into the cups,
I gently pat each plant dry
to remove excess water.
Then, I place each orchid
into its prepared cup. I place
the orchid base near the moist paper,
avoid water accumulation,
and then keep the plant in a spot with indirect, diffused light.
After about a week, I check the orchid
and notice that it is slightly drier than before.
I lightly spray the paper with water
to replenish the moisture.
I regularly check the moisture
level and spray water onto
the paper about once a week when
it starts to dry out.
I repeat this process
and carefully monitor
the condition of each orchid.
And now, let's take a look at
the results after 60 days.
I am very happy to see that all three orchids
have developed new green roots with bright
Showing that they are continuing to grow.
Roots have grown longer and more numerous,
the leaves are greener and healthier, and
some plants have
even started
to grow new leaves.
The base has become
firmer, giving all
three orchids hope
for recovery.
These are encouraging results,
showing that patience and careful moisture control play
an important
role in caring
for rootless
orchids.
Once the orchids have grown new roots,
I plant them in a growing medium consisting of pine
Pine bark, pumice, and a little crushed charcoal.
Pine bark helps keep the growing medium airy,
pumice improves drainage, and charcoal is
added
in a
small
amount.
I adjust each plant to keep it stable in the pot
and repeat the same process with the other
two
orchids.
I check that each plant is stable,
making sure the new roots are not damaged.
Finally, I lightly mist
the orchids to provide
them with moisture.
After 60 days,
all three orchids
have developed
many new roots and
healthier leaves.
Each orchid recovers at a different pace,
but patience is always very important.
