Welcome back to Fox 26 News at 9.
We're all dressed up for Halloween.
Trying to get the orange on.
I'm loving it a lot.
So fun.
You having a fun Halloween so far?
I am, and I kind of wanted to keep the vibe going a little bit.
I love it.
My first graphic is, it's titled Spooky Cities in the U.S.,
but they're not all spooky.
Some of them are a little bit more sort of just fun with Halloween.
We've got like Hershey, New York.
That's one that's kind of more fun.
We'll be eating a lot of those tonight.
Yeah, right.
There is like a hell of a lot.
Michigan, though, so that was a little bit.
There's also, like, Skull Valley, California.
So, yeah, kind of a mix here of some fun cities across the world.
Bloodvane, Montana, I can't quite reach where that one was.
But a lot of, again, sort of some scary-looking stuff there,
but also just kind of some fun.
Included on the map is Sugar Land, which everywhere
is a little bit sugary, I know, across our area tonight.
So kind of a fun graphic to kind of keep going.
This is what most of us have been looking at during the day-to-day.
More clouds than sun or blue skies,
but we were able to kind of warm up the temperatures for sure.
We talked about those highs in the mid-80s is what we saw today.
Right now we're at 76 degrees.
We've got the dew points back in the 70s.
Again, that's the kind of humidity that we're using.
We're used to here in Houston,
so you feel that humidity when you're walking out the door right away.
It's definitely on the humid side.
Temperatures have been a little bit
cooler most of the day up in Huntsville.
Still the coolest spot in town, 71 degrees.
If you're up in Huntsville area, 75 in Tomball.
Pearland sitting at about 76 right now.
And our dew points, I talked about the measurement of humidity.
Pretty high when you're talking about the 70s
or upper 60s for this time of the year.
So definitely feeling a bit muggy.
And our temperatures have been warmer than what we saw yesterday.
And compared to the same time,
anywhere from 4 to 7 degrees warmer on the thermometers right now.
Pretty mild across the state, though, as we've talked about.
Not a lot of cold air, really, anywhere across the state.
That's a comfortable 56 up in Amarillo.
Again, all along the coast, we're in the 70s.
Here's our future cast.
We've been talking about this cold front for a while now.
We're ready to start pinpointing that a little bit more
as we get closer to that time frame.
But I would say be ready for the afternoon
to be a little rainier and stormier.
I'm going to stop our FutureCast here
at about 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
Certainly becoming active.
But really, even all the way through 6 to 7 o'clock in the evening,
we still have some very action-packed activity there.
So just be aware of the morning.
Morning's going to be a little bit less rainy than the afternoon
and evening, it looks like, on Tuesday as the front moves through.
Overall, the bulk of this storm system is going
to hit other parts of the country with a lot more rain,
but we're certainly going to have a one- to two-inch possibility.
Of course, we're changing the clocks back tonight as well as Halloween.
Go ahead and take a moment to check those smoke detectors,
and also, if you've got the carbon monoxide,
be sure and check those detectors as well.
Very important, as well as, of course,
that we'll be doing our clocks a bit.
The sun will appear to come up a little bit earlier,
although it's still kind of just doing its own thing
and we're just adjusting clocks accordingly.
But instead of that 734 that we saw this morning, we're going
to be having the sun come up at our time of 635 in the morning.
That means a much earlier sunset as well in the evening.
And after the cold front on Tuesday, some very pleasant fall days
are waiting for us with high temperatures in the 70s.
