Houston Comets unveil new team logo

This is a homecoming nearly two decades in the making, but she's back. The Houston Comets made history, four championships in a row, truly a legacy team. Tonight they unveiled their brand new logo. The iconic kind of H from the secondary logo from the Comets was really important. We knew fans liked it, and it was also really important to represent the H. This team is back in Houston, and so we took a modern approach. The slant really shows. We'll be right back. Olivia Nelson-Adota, who was a candidate for Most Improved Player last year, she had an excellent year for us. Leila Lacan is our point guard from France. Probably one of the most sought-after prospects we have on our team. Everybody wants her on their team. She's just a young, talented guard in our league. You know, we had Brittany Griner on our team last year, and knowing that she's from Houston, being able to bring her home to finish her career here in Houston. Aaliyah Edwards, another champion from the University of Connecticut. There's a lot. I can go on and on. We've got a lot of players under contract, and it's just going to be an exciting offseason for us when we think about the draft lottery. The free agent prospects that are on the market and the ability that we have to pay a lot of money to get really good veterans here to add to our exciting young corps. Important dates that we have coming up. The draft, talk about those dates. We need to look forward. Yeah, those dates again. November 15th is the WNBA Draft Lottery. We anticipate, I don't know if I should say this on camera. We anticipate the WNBA schedule to be released in early December. We don't have exact dates yet. The draft is April 12th. Training camp will start very quickly after that. And then the regular season starts typically the first weekend in May. But we'll find out when the schedule comes. Are you excited? Because I'm excited. You can get tickets now. Go to the website, get your tickets, and get ready for the draft. The Comets are back. I'm Coco Dominguez reporting. It's Fox 26 News.
