A Missouri City neighborhood street
is expecting thousands of visitors tonight.
Trick-or-treaters will be making their rounds
at what residents call Nightmare on Candy Cane Lane.
So if you are headed out there, expect road closures,
no parking zones, and police presence as well.
Sakura Gray joins us live from Robinson Road
with what you need to know before you go.
That looks like a fun place to be.
Yeah, happy Halloween.
The trick-or-treating is officially commencing. And take a look
behind me. The trick-or-treaters are already out and about.
This is Robinson Road in Missouri
City.
And.
Hey, the clock struck five.
So that means this road is officially shutting down to vehicles.
So only foot traffic is going to be able to get through here.
Now, we've been out here for the
past 30 minutes and you see Missouri police, fire,
EMS all getting set up. There's even a lost kids
station because they're expecting that many people out here
to be trick-or-treating. So keep in mind,
this is an attraction that is a private residential display.
It spans over a single
So social media popularity has really blown this up.
A lot of people we spoke to said they heard about
this on TikTok or on Instagram.
And that's why people are traveling all the way from places like Katy.
And we even heard about somebody from Lufkin traveling here
to enjoy the Halloween decorations
as well.
We spoke with trick or treaters about their experience so far.
What brings you out to Robinson Road?
Well, I heard that the way they decorate here is very
nice. So I just saw it on TikTok
and I told them let's try something different this time.
Yeah, and typically where do you trick or treat like in years past?
So we live in Katy. Okay, so you drove all the way from Katy?
Wow. We trick or treat over there,
but it's not so fun because they don't decorate the houses.
So we wanted to do something different
So in New York they do a lot, so for us it's been a big change.
because we're from New York.
Now, are you going to scare anybody tonight?
With the Sonic one, he was scared about my costume, very scared.
Well, hey, you're going to send people running.
You've got to be nice to them because you look scary.
But I am, so I'm just walking and then people are just scared of me.
I'm not a monster.
Okay.
You're not a monster.
And here's what you need to know
if you're planning on coming out here tonight,
the areas in yellow are no parking zones
and red means the road is closed and also no parking.
So Robinson Road will be closed from 5 PM all the way until midnight
and it'll be a one way
from Robinson Road to Glen Echo Lane until 10 PM.
So the no parking zones are gonna be those
areas that are listed right here on your screen.
So plan accordingly if you are coming out here,
Just keep in mind, you may have to.
Park a little ways away
and you will have to travel on foot to get here to Robinson
Road.
Now, a couple of things to keep in mind
if you're planning on getting out here.
Look, you can take a look behind me.
It's not even dark out yet and there are already trick or treaters.
So we can expect more and more people going
to be coming out here throughout the course
of the night.
But keep in mind the surrounding neighborhood.
They want to make sure that you use
the bathroom before you get on out here.
And also, if you do have any trash, make sure to bring it with you.
Do not leave it in this neighborhood.
But these kind folks are opening up
their neighborhood to invite you guys in, so don't
leave anything behind.
And hey, happy Halloween,
I hope you guys get all the candy you need, back to you.
I bet they will. That is an incredible display. Talk about creativity.
Okay, so this is obviously the case everywhere.
But if you happen to be hitting the roads
in the Fort Bend County area tonight, local police there have
a strong warning and that is do not drink and drive.
The Fulshear Police Department and the district attorney's office
are running a no refusal operation all Halloween weekend.
That means if you are pulled over for driving drunk
and refuse a sobriety test, judges are on standby to sign quick
Search warrants for mandatory blood draws with crowds of trick
or treaters out on the streets.
Officers urge drivers also to slow down, put away your phone
and use a designated driver or ride share to get home safely.
