AI GeneratedThis weather update for Southeast Texas covers the Halloween forecast, upcoming sporting events, and a look ahead to November. While isolated showers are possible on Halloween, conditions are expected to clear for trick-or-treating. The report also reminds residents about the daylight saving time change and warns of a potential storm front arriving by Tuesday.
Happy Halloween, everyone.
Hope you're having a great start to the last day of October.
The fact that November is almost here,
we only have one more month left of hurricane season,
two months until Christmas.
The year is going to be flying by, but I want to talk trick-or-treating
forecasts because I know kids across Southeast Texas are so excited.
We could be seeing a spotty
shower or two. I'll get to the timing in just a bit,
but by the time the sun sets, I really think
I think coverage is going to decrease and again,
not everyone is going to be getting
This morning, it's pretty lackluster in that department,
passing clouds, a few isolated showers midday by 2, 3 o'clock,
maybe a few scattered showers and an isolated rumble
of thunder down toward Matagorda Bay, Lake Jackson, Edna area.
And then the latest high-resolution models have just been keen
on bringing the chance for a few isolated showers basically along
this line, extending from Fort Bend County through Harris,
Montgomery, and into Liberty County.
So some of those spots that I mentioned could be seen.
Seeing that isolated shower or storm by the time the sun sets.
And then things are going to be clearing out
as we head into the overnight hours tonight.
So it is something that we're going to be watching for you closely.
I do want to talk about some football games that we have.
And again, guys, I'm so sorry.
The second time my computer is locked up on me.
There we go.
Texas is hosting Mississippi State.
That is one of my alma maters.
I did my meteorology school there.
So it's going to be a great game.
Nice evening.
Temperature is not too bad.
And then TSU is hosting Grambling State.
That is a 7.30 kickoff.
Most of the rain should be cleared by then, so we should be good to go.
Friendly reminder, though,
we are turning our clocks back one hour tomorrow morning.
So what's going to happen?
The clock goes to 1.59 a.m., right back to 1.
So that's something that we'll be keeping a close eye out on.
That does bring our sunrise an hour earlier,
but also sunset an hour earlier.
5.34 tomorrow, so I'm glad that we have
that extra hour of sunlight for the trick-or-treaters
tonight. Reminder, this is a good time to check your smoke detectors
and carbon monoxide detectors
as well. Just change the batteries,
make sure everything's working properly. Great time to do
so twice a year. So 40% chance for showers today on Halloween,
up to 70% coverage, though, for
your election day on Tuesday.
We're monitoring a front making its way across the state. Some
Some strong storms possible a little bit closer to the area of.
We have low pressure.
We're going to be on the tail end of that front,
but that doesn't mean we couldn't be getting in on some heavy rain
and an isolated strong thunderstorm or two.
The Storm Prediction Center does have a portion of Kansas into Oklahoma
and even dipping into North Texas under that two out of five risk
for strong wind gusts, even some hail and maybe an isolated tornado.
As we head into the first week of November, you betcha,
temperatures are going to be above average.
The good news is it does look like, at least in the short term,
Next Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,
highs in the 70s and wake-up temps will be in the 50s.
