Here is a look at our rainfall estimates over the last 24 hours
and as expected, this has been very light. Notice the color here.
Look up at the scale. We're talking about a tenth of an inch
or less in most locations that have received some rainfall.
There's a look right now at radar and we do have
a few very light sprinkles of rain heading up quickly through western
Tarrant County right now up around Azle, the Eagle Mountain Lake area.
Much of Dallas County is dry.
Same story in Denton County and Collin County.
And as we look down to the south, just a very spotty light rain.
What's happening right now is the rain
is falling through several thousand feet of dry air.
And that dry air is doing a number on it.
It's eating up a lot of this rain.
And so that's why I expect as we head through this evening.
That we're only going to see at times some very spotty light rain
or sprinkles of rain.
A little steadier.
This is a little misleading, though.
Our radar beam, by the time it does reach up into a Young County here,
we're probably looking up around 5,000 feet.
So it looks like it's moderate rain,
but falling at the surface more than likely is just light rain
at this hour around Graham and Young County.
So, look for, again, a little bit of very light
on and off rain as we head through this evening.
Friday night high school football action, 72 around kickoff.
By the time we reach the end of the game, right around 67.
Now, we look ahead to tomorrow evening.
Dancing Frankenstein there, 73 at 6 o'clock.
Mostly cloudy skies, partly to mostly cloudy at 8 o'clock, 69.
This is the forecast for the Metroplex.
If you live, let's say, up towards Hunt County,
Fannin County, Lamar County, Sulphur Springs area,
there still will be a slight chance
of rain through about 7 o'clock in the evening.
Currently, we've got a temperature reading of 73 to 74,
Lyons, DFW, and at Love Field.
Elsewhere, 70 at Meridian.
It's presently 71 at Bridgeport.
And a little warmer to our east
and northeast where we've had a little bit of sunshine.
77 at this hour in Terrell.
So here's Futurecast again.
Some of the isolated
on and off light rain showers moving through the area tonight.
Tomorrow morning there will be one more disturbance
with some scattered showers Saturday morning.
Through early in the afternoon,
I'm going to pause it here right around 5 p.m.
At that point in time, I think much of this will
be moving north and northeast of the
Dallas-Fort Worth area, and then we should
dry things out very quickly for the remainder
of Saturday night.
Sunday is a generally mostly cloudy, warm day,
up around 80 degrees, and then our next
weather system, that upper level low,
heavy snow with it up in Colorado, we'll see just
Just a slight chance of rain Monday afternoon.
A line of showers and storms will quickly develop along
that front Monday night.
That will sweep through into early Tuesday morning.
So early in the morning, Election Day,
there still could be some showers and storms,
in particular for areas east of Dallas and Fort Worth.
I think much of the day, though, will dry things out very quickly
and then very pleasant fall weather on tap for Wednesday.
There's your seven-day forecast.
73 tomorrow, 80 degrees on Sunday.
Don't forget to fall back.
Turn the clocks back one hour.
Best chance of rain next week will
be Monday night into early Tuesday morning.
Wednesday looking really nice.
And Thursday just a slight chance of a passing shower.
