All right, welcome back.
For years, a North Texas man has transformed spooky season
into a time of generosity.
He puts together a haunted house to not only thrill you,
but also help create a lasting impact for others.
Stan Godwin, live at the Creekside Manor Haunted House in Midlothian.
I heard your mic check during the break,
Dan, and it sounded very sinister there.
Well, that's, yeah, that's one way to put it, Brandon.
We're actually inside the haunted house here at Creekside Manor.
This is a real house.
Someone used to live here.
Apparently, they moved out for some reason.
Not clear what happened there.
We do have a lot of these long, dark hallways in the house.
They look a little ominous, but, oh,
there is somebody right down this direction.
Maybe we could interact a little bit with them.
That's the werewolf apparently not not feeling real chatty
at this point. That's okay. We'll we'll continue the tour
Oh, here's another one of these
long hallways and you know
I will say that the lighting in certain places
is not real helpful as far as navigating the different corridors
But let's keep going Oh past the the mirror
and let's see what's in this room. Oh, okay here we have a
Here we have someone known as the bride.
Now, I'm not sure exactly when the wedding is scheduled,
but it seems like she might be a little nervous before the big day.
Maybe some counseling would help.
Oh, here's someone.
I guess we call her one of the bride's maids.
Oh, and one of the stars,
one of the celebrities living here in the Creekside Manor house,
Count Dracula.
Hello.
The Count, we're told, is always happy to welcome visitors.
All right, now there's a little bit more to the hallway here.
This is just a small portion of the haunted house.
Now, down this direction.
Oh, okay.
Well, so this now brings us to the music room.
And here's somebody on keyboards.
Let's get a look. Somebody on keyboards playing
a cheerful tune. Yes, very nice.
Let's say hello to Haven and Dayton Minter.
They, along with their dad and a few other of their siblings,
together as a family, they create this whole place every year.
And it really is remarkable. Haven, in addition to the haunted house.
What else is there to see and experience here?
Yeah, so currently we're in the Creekside Manor.
We also have our pirate ship attraction,
followed by our zombie fallout,
our carnival world of clowns, our butcher shop,
and then ending with our insane asylum.
So it takes a while to get through and see all of it.
Dayton, interestingly,
is responsible for all of the animatronics, right?
Yes, sir, that's correct.
I've spent years mastering the electronics on how to...
How to control all these props,
and I think I've gotten pretty good at it, and I think
I love scaring people.
I'll tell you, it really is remarkable from start to finish,
and as Haven was pointing
out, there's a whole lot more to see than just
the haunted house, which is something
I will tell you that.
Okay, it is the Creekside Manor Haunted House.
Tonight and tomorrow night, the last two days,
they've been open and running on weekends
for the entire month of October.
Each year, as Brandon alluded to,
this attraction raises money for worthwhile causes, worthy causes.
This year, they're generating funds,
lots of money for a food pantry here in Ellis County,
as well as a county program.
To help families and kids in crisis.
We've got more information about the haunted house, how to get here,
the address, ticketing information at our website, fox4news.com.
But for now, while we still can, while we're still all in one piece,
let's go back to Brandon, who is safe and sound in the studio.
Yes, well done, Dan.
Stay away from Dracula.
We need you in the next hour.
So thank you.
