Man shot at Madison Heights Spirit Halloween

Breaking news and a scary start to the holiday weekend. A man is shot at a spirit Halloween in Madison Heights. Fox 2's Camila Marie is live in Madison Heights with all of those details. And Camila, we understand both sides, victim and suspect customers there. Yeah, Jessica, this is a really scary story. I mean, you don't think something like this is gonna happen inside a Halloween store the day before Halloween. Take a look at some video. The first video I wanna show you is the takedown of the suspect. This is video from one of our Fox 2 viewers, took this video on their cell phone, obviously police capturing the suspect very quickly outside the store. It happened, the shooting happened inside the store just after two o'clock, both the victim and the suspect actually injured. The victim shot several times, according to police. And then the suspect, the police say that the victim's friends and family, there was a physical altercation between them and the suspect. And then of course, you see that takedown. We also have Sky Fox video and video outside the store that we can show you a very scary situation for everyone involved. We are told that both the suspect and the victim are men in their 20s, both customers, as you said. Both taken to area hospitals. We don't have conditions, especially on that victim who was shot. I know that that gun went off multiple times. People inside the store describe a very hectic, chaotic, and dramatic situation. Take a listen. We heard a big loud pop. At first we thought it was a balloon because we're in a decoration store. It wouldn't be too off if it was a balloon that popped. So after that, about two seconds later, it all just went pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, probably about five, four more shots after that. At that point, everybody started scattering like ants. Everybody running around, everything, my shoes then came off, lost my shoes. Me and my mom ended up finding the back door and we ran out the back door. The only thing that was going through my head, it felt like a movie. I'm like, please don't tell me it's about to be a spirit Halloween massacre. I thought somebody was coming in there and killing everybody. So, only thing that was on my mind, me and my mom got to get out of here, is no way we finna go out for the spirit Halloween. I'm back live here. The store right now still closed at this hour. Again, this is on John R and Madison Heights in the Target shopping plaza, very well known strip mall. Meanwhile, police say that they do not believe that anyone else is in danger. They believe they have their suspect and of course that victim in the hospital. Meanwhile, what led up to this? What was the motive? Why? Why inside the store? A million questions come to mind right now. Police trying to piece all of it together. For now, we are live in Madison Heights. You had the subsequent brawl. I mean, it looked totally chaotic out there earlier. Yeah, I mean, totally chaotic. I mean, it's a Friday. It's the day before Halloween. The weather is nice. People are out. And then all of a sudden this happens. It's the last thing you would think would happen inside a busy Halloween store. Meanwhile, so many people have come up asking police what's going on. Is the store closed? People, everyday shoppers still trying to get stuff for Halloween.
