Some of these live pictures pop up,
but now we're talking midterms, and there is Texas.
We're going to go to Lubbock now
because obviously the Senate race there is hot and heavy.
It's been that way for a long time.
Here we are in the final week before the midterms,
and Republicans and Democrats pushing
to win over undecided voters there.
Let's get out to Fox's Asher Redd in Lubbock, Texas.
And Republicans and Democrats
are holding dueling rallies going on today, Asher.
Yeah, Jason, President Trump was in town yesterday trying to rally
Republican voters in favor of Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton.
But Paxton's opponent, Democrat James Tallarico,
was just two miles down the road holding his own rally.
It was pretty sizable also in comparison.
Now, Lubbock was a reliably Republican area in West Texas,
but campaign officials tell me about 4,000 people signed up
to attend Tallarico's rally last night.
And another 500 people on top of that signed up to volunteer.
Tallarico's campaign even had to change
the venue to accommodate that many people.
And one member of his team said the line
to get in last night stretched five blocks
and about 1,000 people still could not get a seat inside.
The Democratic candidate said that's the kind
of turnout that could spell trouble for Ken Paxton.
Take a listen.
Lubbock, you are my slingshot.
Texas are my slingshot.
On November 3rd, those Goliaths aren't going to know what hit them.
And President Trump's rally just two miles away drew
in several thousand more people,
but still only about 4,000 were let in.
The president telling voters that Tallarico would cause
their energy prices to increase
because of what he calls the Green New Deal scam.
Now, Paxton briefly joined Trump on stage. Here they are.
But if James Tallarico gets in, your energy costs will skyrocket.
He personally wrote the Texas version of the Green New Deal scam,
which would annihilate millions of Texas jobs.
All right, I'm going to say this.
You guys, the election may depend on West Texas.
You are the most Republican area of our state.
And so I'm going to ask you for the next seven days,
get every Republican out to vote and we will win Texas.
God bless you.
And the latest Fox News power ranking shows
that this race is still a toss up.
and that undecided crowd of voters
that these candidates are trying to reach
is practically non-existent,
with only 1% of Texas voters still needing to make up their minds.
Now, both candidates are continuing on their campaign trails today
with Tallarico in Austin and Paxton in Abilene.
Back to you.
All right, Asher Redd in Lubbock, thank you very much.
All right, this is the news.
