What does it mean to you?
I can't believe it's a world championship, but of course it is.
I was thinking about a World Series ring, Raymond.
Now I'm thinking about being the best team in the world.
In the world!
In Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Love that.
All the work that you put in from when you started to where you are,
what does it mean to you,
your group of people that have helped build this?
There's so much pride in what we did here.
You know, we talk about the fact
that we built this, we didn't buy this.
we built this and we've had over the you know 22 seasons thousands
of people involved getting up to
the next level because it really is sort
of a stair step to the next level very rare that you
you know put a team together get to the world series
in faith took a little longer than we
wanted but i saw that we could do it still took a little luck
and maybe some euchre magic and all
of that you have robin young here it's kind
of a symbol of all the steps that this organization
is made and the connectivity
all the way back. What does that
mean to have that history connected?
I'll tell you what it means. I watched the game
with him tonight. When he won, he hit me so hard
in the chest. I've got to go check back.
I haven't been hit that hard in the chest in like 20 years.
He's still strong. Really
strong. And he told me tonight,
he said, you know, I don't
know how I felt last night, but tonight
I'm ready to go. I can go get in that lineup for you.
And I believe it.
I know that you care about every
player, but what does it mean to see Christian
Yelich and Brandon Woodruff get
this opportunity to celebrate a
World Series? Yeah, I said something
to Woody when we were up on the stage.
I'm so glad he can be part of this
victory and have helped us get to
this last step
pitching yesterday. Remarkable amount
of effort that it took for him and commitment
to get him to the point
to pitch, and actually risking
injury to pitch.
And pitch pretty damn well, too.
And lastly, you've always had you
In your heart, as part of this, what does it mean
that so many people have also wanted him and felt him included in this?
Oh, I feel him every day. I really do.
My parents also, you know, we were very good friends with my parents.
You know, we wouldn't be here without you,
and we wouldn't be here without Bud Seelig.
We really have been the foundation
of this team through a lot of lean years.
A lot of lean years. Neither of them ever gave up.
And the Seelig family chose me, which I'll always be grateful for.
and it's our responsibility with that because
the whole goal is to do this
and it's a lot harder than I thought it would be.
But we never gave up, just like this team never gave up.
Thank you and congratulations.
Thank you.
