A 22-year-old Chicago-area rapper is dead after
a fatal shooting involving federal agents in Dixmoor.
Chadwick Clark, known as Lowick, was killed this morning during
a court-authorized law enforcement operation near 145th
and Cooper Avenue.
Leslie Moreno is joining me here now to talk
a little bit more about everything we know at this point.
And Leslie, I remember when Say was out there this morning.
It was a very active scene, pretty chaotic.
What is the family saying at this point?
Yeah, this all happened just before 7 a.m. this morning.
So as people were getting ready to head out
to work to drop off kids to school,
it turns out the 22-year-old had a criminal history
and ties to rapper Bloodhound Q50, who was recently gunned down.
Despite all of this, his sister says he was turning his life around
and family is now questioning what happened inside that home
and what exactly led agents to open fire.
Yellow tape marks the scene where 22-year-old
Chadwick Clark was shot and killed
during a court-authorized law enforcement operation
in Dixmoor Wednesday morning.
I'm not going to say he was an angel,
and I'm not going to just sit right here
and portray an image like he wasn't something that he wasn't.
He was a great person.
He was a father, he was a man, and he took care of his family.
Clark is also known in the Chicago rap scene as Lowick.
He's appeared in songs and videos with Bloodhound Q50,
who was gunned down at a gas station last month.
This marks at least four Bloodhound rappers
who died violently in the past three years.
They want to play with Loic. No, I don't play.
One of eight. I can make a nap.
Clark posted this Instagram video of him smoking
and rapping at 435 this morning,
about two and a half hours before he was shot
and killed by federal agents.
The FBI has not revealed what the warrant was for,
but Lowick has rap lyrics about committing fraud and even posted
this screenshot about suspicious bank activity hours before his death.
Lil Wick just walked into the studio talking about how he crashed
a V. These little young a**es be sons of me.
Court records also show Clark was sentenced
to three years in Illinois prison after being convicted
of failing to report an accident involving injury.
He also faced an armed robbery charge
in Indiana connected to a 2024 gas station incident.
They're trying to make it seem like he
was this bad person, but he really wasn't.
He was a good person and he had a great heart.
His sister, Nia Cole, says Clark was shot while hiding inside an attic.
She questions why federal agents opened fire
and whether her brother posed a threat.
I'm trying to figure out how did they shoot him inside
of an attic if he was hiding
and he didn't have no weapons on him he didn't have anything on him
so why did they shoot him
what was the threat cole says her brother
was trying to move forward after spending time in
prison she says he was focused on his daughter
and was about to start a new job this week
he was just trying to get
his life together he just did almost two years in jail so he came home
trying to take care of his daughter
and he almost just was finna work if he wouldn't ever just
that his job he was supposed to start his job
this week the fbi has not said what exactly that
warrant was being served for or said what exactly led up
to the shooting as of this evening there
have been no arrests announced by police well okay we'll look
for the updates that should be
coming our way thank you
