Family mourns man killed in shooting involving FBI: 'My heart is completely broken'

All right, good afternoon, everyone. This day has been busy, so let's try to make sense of it. We've got to start with the situation in Dixmoor right now. Someone is dead after some kind of altercation with law enforcement there. Yeah, the FBI says that this all happened while serving a federal warrant. Saquon has been out there all morning for us and say you got a big update for us. What have you learned? Yeah, well, we're definitely we've learned the identity of the person who we understand was shot and killed by an FBI agent here. I'll step out of the way, though, because I do want to show you how much this has progressed all throughout the morning. We got here close to seven o'clock this morning. This call came in just shortly before that. But you can see, I mean, this is still very much a big presence here of federal authorities. It does seem like Dixmoor police is pretty much out of this area at this point. But we are still seeing the Cook County Sheriff's Office providing that assistance, like they've said, that they've committed to. Once again, we heard from Dixmoor's police chief earlier that they had gotten a call from the FBI asking if Dixmoor PD would help assist by setting up a perimeter for the FBI. So Dixmoor's police chief made it very clear to me today that that was the only role they had. It's unclear really what the role of the Cook County Sheriff's Office is here in this investigation in particular, but we've really just seen them blocking off roads for people in the area. So definitely providing assistance in terms of navigating things like traffic and road closures in the neighborhood. Guys, I want to show you this photo we just got in from a family member. We actually got this from the older sister, and this is 22-year-old Chadwick Clark. We understand he is someone who family members really described as a good person. Apparently he would never even get in the way of a ladybug, someone trying to kill a fly or a ladybug. But one thing that was interesting was the older sister did admit, she even said, I'm I'm not going to stand here and say that this was an angel child. But something that she did say was she wished that she was able to talk to him. She wished that any family member would have been allowed to talk to Chadwick when he was inside. Family members tell me that Chadwick was hiding in the attic and that's basically what they're hearing from the FBI. And they have some questions about this. They wanna know how and why they shot and killed Chadwick when family members at least are saying that there was no weapon inside. Now again, we have not heard that from authorities quite yet. We haven't really heard their perspective and we haven't heard from them honestly since that first update when they told us that one person was dead, which we've now learned was Chadwick Clark. Guys, we got a chance to speak with that older sister who shared that photo with us and she She was incredibly emotional as she described the type of brother Chadwick was. Take a listen. Because I knew that he was going to make it through this. I thought he was strong enough to make it through this, but he wasn't, and it hurts me so bad. It hurts me tremendously. He didn't make it through this. He made it through so much. He made it through watching his brother die. He made it through so much stuff. through this. He made it through so much. He made it through watching his brother die. He made it through so much stuff. So I never expected this to take him away from me the way that it has done. And my heart is completely broken. So once again, what we've heard from the FBI and from even Dixmoor's police chief is that the FBI was executing some sort of federal search warrant here. We don't really know We know the details of that, we've been asking just about every single person possible. And no one has been able to give us any information on that arrest warrant in particular. It sounds like it was actually an arrest warrant, that's what we're hearing from family members. One thing that Nia, that older sister, also told me is Chadwick had just finished serving a sentence, it sounds like, in prison for two years or so. And those details are also unclear. Why he served time in jail, those details are basically unknown at this point. But we do know that these family members are mourning the loss of their loved one. They were right here watching it unfold. We know that his mother was out here. She was the one screaming, they shot my baby. And so there's a lot of questions that these family members are still wanting to find out and they're hoping that they can get those answers soon. Again, it sounds like the FBI hasn't really been giving them a lot of information. But of course they were at the hospital and they say that right now they're just trying to get the answers.
