The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office now identifying the man
and woman killed in a murder-suicide in Manchester on Tuesday.
And they say the couple's 8-year-old son was hit by a stray bullet.
There are now new disturbing details about Tuesday's
apparent murder-suicide that shocked this quiet Manchester,
New Hampshire neighborhood
and left an 8-year-old boy hospitalized with a gunshot wound.
The New Hampshire Attorney General has identified the man and woman
found dead inside a second-floor bedroom at 59 Wheelock Street
as 35-year-old Benny Cruz and his wife, 34-year-old Alicia Cruz.
A stray bullet struck their 8-year-old son, who was in his bedroom.
It appears that Benny Cruz shot Alicia Cruz multiple times
before shooting himself in the head.
During the course of that shooting,
several rounds, penetrated an adjoining wall,
and traveled into a bedroom where one of those
rounds struck the eight-year-old child.
A neighbor recorded this dramatic cell phone
video of Manchester police recovering the boy from the house.
Today, Wheelock Street is quiet,
but neighbors tell me they still can't believe what happened here.
My thoughts are with the
little boy. I hope he's going to be okay.
I don't know who the people are, but I feel so bad for
that boy. Oh, he has to live with this the rest of his life now.
And that eight-year-old boy has
now lost his mother and his father
and he suffered a gunshot wound to his torso while he was in his
bedroom when this murder-suicide was taking place in the next bedroom.
That child is now recovering
at a Boston hospital. Kerry, just an awful set of facts here.
