The Texans Are In DEEP Trouble...
1 Video View·Oct 26, 2026
The Texans are in deep trouble as following
the loss to the Giants this afternoon,
Houston now sits at 2-5 headed into the bye week.
Where does this team go from here?
And is it even possible to salvage this season?
What's up, ladies and gentlemen?
Welcome back to Texans Digest.
I'm your host, as always, Isaac Estrada.
So, this week is officially wrapped up
with the Houston Texans taking the L to the Giants.
We're going to dive into all that more today on Texans Digest
because this really affects the Houston Texans going
into the bye week and headed into the rest
of the season. But right before we dive into all that,
man, about 90% of you guys still not
subscribed and we just hit 3,200 subs.
So if you are not a part of this channel yet and you would
like to be, please do your boy a favor and hit
that subscribe button. You're going to be getting
daily updates here on Texans Digest.
But regardless, I appreciate you for tuning into this
video. But man, we got to talk about it today
because the Houston Texans took a really bad
loss to the Giants. It was a really fun game.
I'll say that. It was a really fun game to watch,
but falling to 2-5 on the season is rough.
So, we're going to dive into all of that right now, man.
Texans lose to the Giants in overtime.
Texans now 2-5 on the season.
So, diving right into it, man,
this was a really back-and-forth contest.
This was a really back-and-forth contest.
One of my biggest issues with Houston is, again,
again, the slow start in the first quarter.
We've seen that a lot throughout this season,
and I feel like that was really prevalent again.
Obviously, in the second quarter, we started getting it together.
We were able to knot it up at 14 apiece, but after the first quarter,
all the offensive weapons in the world Woody Marks
isn't terrible at all and you know this team
just after the first quarter seven
to three it really feels like there was a lot of drives that
we weren't able to capitalize on second quarter looked
a lot better ended up beating them in the
second quarter 11 to 7 points wise third quarter
both teams put up sneakers and in the fourth
quarter exchanged touchdowns Texans not ended up late
in the fourth quarter very proud of them for
that but in overtime weren't able to do anything
when it mattered the most and of course those two
huge chunk plays by Cam Scadaboo and also by Devin Singletary.
We're going to dive right into it,
man. So in overtime, that run game and throughout,
I'm not going to say just overtime, throughout the
game, this run game absolutely killed us.
Let's pull up the stats here for the Giants. Put it on
the big screen. You can look at the running game here.
Cam Scadaboo from going last week to running
the fullback position for the Giants
and getting zero touches to turning around against Houston
and getting 17 carries for 124 yards and a touchdown.
And in the biggest moment of the game,
42 yard rush in overtime was a great game
by him can't lie I didn't think Cam Scarbrough had that in
him I'm not gonna lie a lot of people counted him off after
his numbers had steadily decreased and
after last week getting no carries
um can't believe they would do that towards my fantasy
team I benched him this week what an L
but yeah man Cam Scarbrough absolutely torched us up
Devin Singletary looked like Bill's Devin
Singletary out there was getting some good
chunk plays as well Tyrone Tracy
also got himself a touchdown this is something that this team should
not be doing. Four rushing touchdowns against
the Houston Texans defense. That's not anything we
should be seeing at all.
Four rushing touchdowns is absolutely diabolical. I don't know what
happened, man. That defensive, I'll say it right now, I was wrong.
I was 100% wrong. You guys,
if you guys follow this channel closely,
you would know that every single day I sit here and say this
Houston Texans defense is so much better than people
are making it seem. I think our run-stop
game is great. I think especially after drafting Katie McDonald,
but obviously did not show up
today at all. I will say through the pass,
through the air, J.J. McCarthy looked pretty solid. There
was a lot of underneath routes,
a lot of looking screen routes that they got and they were able to
get eight or nine chunkyards out of us.
We saw it most prevalent in the fourth quarter and in
overtime. So that was a big deal as well.
So I'm not sure what happened, man. I'm not sure what
happened to this defense. This defense looked
pretty solid after the first half, but in the
second half, just offensive or defensively just shut down.
Just absolutely shut down, man. Cam
Scadaboo getting a 42 this was the play man 42 rush
in overtime that just that shouldn't be
happening in the red candy unis too bro
in the red candy uniforms this happened can't believe it
Will Anderson Jr. today he was pretty solid had himself four tackles
not a single sack on the day
and obviously I don't want to hold him to that high of standard
but every single week every single day
I feel like we're talking about him being
the defensive player of the year and today he didn't
really have the best game
but either way just really disappointing by Houston we're gonna look
that offense now offense wasn't bad
at all CJ Stroud still did his thing obviously not as
efficient as you would have wanted him to be only 153 passing yards
and two touchdowns Woody Marks
is somebody I really want to talk about we're going
to talk about it right now Woody Marks a
lot of people have been giving me slack throughout this season
because I said hey Woody Marks is good
Woody Marks is a solid back I don't think he's
the running back of the future under no circumstances
do we need to be thinking about trading him
for Saquon Barkley like these dumb rumors say
but I don't think Woody Marks is that top 10 RB1.
I've been saying it all season long
and a lot of people for whatever reason
have been telling me,
hey, you're absolutely wrong.
Woody Marks is that guy.
He should be getting the R1 stabs.
He could be a top 10 running back in this league
and I was telling people,
hey, I just, I don't see it.
I get that that offensive line
is not the best in the world
but I'm just not seeing it with Woody Marks.
I think Woody Marks is a very solid back.
He's proven that he can be a very solid
second and third down back
multiple times throughout that game
where Woody Marks maybe went nowhere
but all of a sudden you give him
to Woody Marks and he popped six or seven free on second
or first or second down that's that's a
great back so instead of saying third down back I should say first
and second but just I just I've
told people I just don't see it and for whatever reason
that was a very hot take in this game I
think it kind of proved itself obviously one game
doesn't doesn't define everything but just to hear
man Woody Marks 19 carries 66 yards
and 11 11 yards was his longest rush and I believe that
was somewhere in the fourth quarter right before
that touchdown drive by CJ Stroud to not up the
game and send us to overtime
but either way man I just I know a lot of people are going to give
me slack for it but one of the things that I think has
to change in the offseason because obviously
I think for the rest of the season you guys
are right for the rest of the season let's run it
with wing marks let's run it with woody marks
obviously David Montgomery is going to be healthy
soon and Jawan Jordan obviously he's on IR I'm not sure
when he's going to be back but run it
with Woody Marks for the rest of the season I think
in the offseason don't trade for a running
back go draft a young man in the third
or fourth maybe even fifth round and get to get four or
five years out of him and hopefully even more
because I don't think Woody Marks is that star
running back that a lot of people want
to make him seem like he can be. I don't know if that's
just me guys, but what I saw today, I saw a solid back.
I didn't see that top 10 caliber that some
people are making him out to be.
So that happened with Woody Marks. Obviously the run game was not
clicking for us. That offensive line wasn't,
I don't even want to talk about that offensive line
man, but going into the pass game now,
Dalton Schultz was our best receiver. I'm not sure why
in the world that even happened I know it cut it off here
but Marvin Harrison Jr. had himself one
catch for six yards he was targeted multiple
times I think he had about four or five targets
but targeted multiple times could not haul it
in had himself one catch for six yards in the end
zone we got to see more out of him offensively just
not able to get it going Tank Dell shout
out to him man third quarter huge grab by Tank Dell
for 43 yards we were saying that's the Tank
Dell we all know and love I was sitting here saying hey
that's where we needed him the most
deep threat. Kayshawn Booty had one catch.
Xavier Hutchinson had himself three catches.
Obviously, the one in the back of the end zone
to send us into overtime was very clutch.
Also, just not quite sure where Nico Collins was tonight.
Obviously, he had a few catches,
but nothing too special. Pass game just was not really clicking.
It doesn't help that the run
game with Woody Marks was not clicking as well.
Houston falls to 2-5 on the season. Giants look
great, man. Giants look great.
And now we're going to talk about it, man, because this is looking
really bad for the Houston Texans
but what does this mean for Houston moving forward two and five
is a rough hole to dig your way out
of let's talk about it man let's talk about it two and five on
the season two and five is a rough hole to try
to dig yourself out of for Houston obviously I don't
think the whole blame should go on CJ Stroud
and I remember watching this game and I was thinking
hey you know what that was a great game at the end
of the day the defense needs to focus more I'm not
sure what's going on since D'Amico's led
that defense they've looked a little more sharper
but today they really fell flat on their face.
Today they really fell flat on their face.
And you can argue about last week.
I think last week when it mattered the most,
this defense clutched up.
Obviously late in the fourth quarter,
T-Law was on a drive.
They held them to three.
We were able to get the ball in overtime
and kick the game winning field goal
This week, same circumstance,
defense this time wasn't able to clutch up at all.
Cam Scadaboo pops three for a 42-yard gain.
I think that run alone was more than he had
in the past two weeks.
Singletary right after that pops it free
for a touchdown and wins the game.
So very obvious that there's some holes in this defense.
but yeah man just where do they go
from here something I want to ask you guys I'm going to
ask you guys now who do you blame for the loss today
because I was talking about it today man
here actually I'll say it after we get to this question
but a Texans defense because that defense
did not look too hot be Texans offense
because CJ Stroud didn't look too sharp through the air
again it's not all his fault the run game
also was struggling with what he marks see coaching
staff because I know at the end of the day
no matter if we put up 50 points or we put up zero
points coaching staff is going to get some kind
of blame so I put that one up there as
Well, a specific player or unit on this team.
I know a lot of people,
I'm not trying to throw as much shade
under Woody Marks as possible,
but that run game's gotta be stronger, man.
That offensive line has to be stronger.
That's why I'm talking about specific units
or players or E, no one.
It was a great performance by the Giants
because it was, man.
It was a great performance by the Giants.
They really shocked everybody.
Houston was a big favorite coming into this game
and Houston turned some head man,
or Giants turned some headmans.
They proved a lot of people wrong today
and something I do want to talk about really quickly.
I put E there because I was in this category
for a little bit after the game ended.
I remember after the game ended, I was like, you know what?
It was a good game.
It was a good game either way.
You know what?
We should be happy as Houston Texans fans that we got a good game.
And then I remember that this team is 2-5.
If we were sitting here and even were 2-2 after
the first four weeks of the season,
this would be a lot more, a lot easier pill to swallow.
But for a team that had so many hopes coming into the season,
playoff caliber hopes, Super Bowl caliber hopes,
defensive player of the year right here,
this team looking like they had the best defense headed
into the season now Minnesota for whatever
reason has the best defense
and we weren't expecting that all that mixed together I was
sitting here saying hey it was a good game I know we lost
but it was a good game it would have been
a lot easier pill to swallow if Houston didn't start off
the season 0-4 that was Houston's
biggest issue my takeaway from this game
is it's close games like that that you look at and they
snag away and you say darn it but we started off 0-4
so that hurts us a lot more than it usually
would. Even let's say we started off two
and two at the start of the season. Let's say we were able
to clutch up against Indianapolis
and we were able to clutch up against Dallas. And we start two and
two. Then you went back to back. Now we're four and two.
And we take this L and you're saying,
dang it. Got to get back out there. Got to be better.
There's a lot we need to work on. But
hey, this team is still willing to win. We can do this.
We're not looking at that. We're looking
at a Houston team that dropped all four of their first games.
Even if they went one and three in
their first four games this would be a lot more easier pill
to swallow but because they had such
an abysmal start the first four weeks
of the season we're sitting here with a two and five
team wondering what in the world is going
on saying hey these close games we cannot afford
to lose them because this team started off zero
and four so as always I want to know what you guys
think who do you think it is to blame for this loss
but regardless something's got to change man
run game has to change things got to get better
not everything can fall on CJ's shoulders so
as always let me know what you guys think in the comments below
but that's what we talked about
today on Texans Digest a long way back to victory
for Houston they got a lot to dwell on headed into
the bye week but regardless we're hoping
to come back strong in that first week against chargers
first week of november so thank you guys
so much for watching today on Texans Digest have a great
day have a blessed day i'll see you guys tomorrow
