A Minnesota election judge has now pled guilty to a felony for deliberately allowing unregistered voters to cast ballots. Timothy Michael Skoten, 65, of Nevis, Minnesota, the head election judge in Bedora Township, Hubbard County, admitted in court Monday that he allowed 11 unregistered individuals to vote without meeting the most basic legal requirements. Judge Skoten was responsible for ensuring that all voting procedures complied with Minnesota law. According to court filings, Scotton went under both basic election judge training and head judge training earlier this year. Scotton was arrested and charged with two felonies for this outrageous scheme. Skoten ultimately admitted in court this week that he allowed the votes to be cast without proper registration, acknowledging that this action violated the law. Skoten pled guilty to one felony count of allowing unregistered voting. A second charge of neglect of duty will be dismissed. Judge Skoten now faces five to ten years in prison and a fine of $10,000, depending on the sentencing outcome. His sentence is scheduled for May 18th, and he has already been barred from serving as an election judge or any type of judge in the future. So there you go, folks.
