It is cool and wet outside temperatures currently
in those upper 40s right now from Mount Vernon all
the way through parts of Renton, up 50 degrees in Port Townsend.
We've even got some 46 degree temperatures coming in close to Shelton
and Tacoma. As we take a live look outside right now, it is gray.
The clouds are low. I just a short time ago
was seeing some of the raindrops coming down there
on this camera shot from Queen Anne 47 degrees.
This is a look right now at that live Doppler radar.
I had to zoom in
because we had a pocket of some moderate showers just
a short time ago coming through the metro
locations. But you can see we continue
to see some heavier pockets up into areas in the Cascade
foothills, of course,
with that uplift on the west slope of those mountains. As we check out
what is happening a little farther out, though,
we still have that center of the area of low
pressure. So this is what we call kind of the parent low,
if you will. It's the driving factor
for the front coming through right now.
So widespread showers currently this morning
there is a bit of a dry pocket behind it
and then we've got that main disturbance
so after the widespread rainfall wraps up
this morning we will see some more scattered showers
in nature now we have been talking about the snow levels
this morning they're up right around four
to five thousand feet so we're really just getting
that dusting of some light snow way on up there at
the higher tops of the Cascades and North Cascades look
at this though we've got another colder
system headed our direction for the middle
of the week Wednesday Thursday this will pull the snow
levels down to 3,500 feet yeah that means we could
be actually talking about some of the first
light amounts of snow up at some of our area passes
so stay tuned we're going to be watching
that forecast really closely here's a look
at the future cast for the rest of the day so again you
can see by this morning the main frontal system will start
to push its way eastward that snow up
there in those higher mountaintops, as we said,
but that main disturbance still bringing some
showers to the area, especially around the Olympic Peninsula
and the coastal regions.
We're kind of in between it here.
You can see in that I-5 corridor right around 520.
I do think the game is going to be generally dry today,
but I think with the showers kind of in
the area, a stray shower,
a passing shower throughout the game is not totally out of
the question, but more dry than wet,
and we'll hold on to a slight chance for some showers for
the first part of the weekend to Monday.
Today, likely not the day to do the yard work. The yard
is very soggy outside, but if you're doing some tailgating,
it should dry out and enjoy a lot of
that Seahawks Sunday kind of vibe out there.
54 in Everett, 55 degrees in Seattle. Your seven-day
forecast will show that stronger system
and cooler system headed our direction for Wednesday,
Thursday, still looking to dry out in time for Halloween.
