Suwanee teams battle after fall break

No question that our high five sports game of the week will go a long way to determining a region title in one of the most competitive dead heat regions in the entire state. It's an all Gwinnett County showdown. Our Kelly Price is live at North Gwinnett High School and tonight's visiting team KP coming off a bye week, but looking to get back on track. Yeah, they certainly are. And this region is all knotted up right now. And all these schools are really close to each other like we were just kind of talking about as well. Talk about the rivalry aspect of this game first of all, because I know that There's so much juice on both sides of this game. Yeah, it's the battle of Suwannee. So these kids grow up playing against each other and coaches coaching with each other and against each other. All our dads know each other. So it really, you know, we're four miles apart or whatever it is. So, you know, they're having a good year. And so are we. So excited about the game tonight. You guys start the year 6-0 and then you have that loss, I guess, two weeks ago. You have the bye week. How did you like your team's response during that bye and how they kind of handled it? It was actually really good. It was a little different this year because we had a fall break, which is a whole week, first time we've done that here in Gwinnett. So right after the game, kids had about five or six days for that to sit. And then they came back last Friday. We had a really good Friday, Saturday practice and then hit the ground running on Monday. So probably our best week of practice this year. So, you know, they responded really well. And this is a 7 o'clock game. You guys are literally about to take the field. Talk about the message that you kind of had for your guys just in this locker room right before you came out here. Just effort and belief in each other. We won here a couple years ago, 2023. We did not play our best that night, which is crazy to say because North Gwinnett is a really, really good football team. But just the belief in each other and their effort, play after play after play, got us a victory that night, and hopefully we can do that tonight. All right, we'll let you go get the headset on because this game is literally about to kick off. Justin, I'll send it back to you. Four minutes away from kickoff. How cool is that? The team lining up to run through the banner. KP, thanks so much. Make sure to join us for highlights of that game and so much more on High Five Sports tonight. Game of the Week, Call of the Week, our photographers all over the state getting highlights for you. The big show coming on tonight after Game 1 of the World Series. We're thinking right around 11 o'clock.
