A report on several recent aviation accidents across the globe, including a small plane collision with Beijing's tallest building, fatal crashes in Canada and the UK, and a miraculous survival story in Japan. The report highlights various causes ranging from pilot error to engine failure and the dangers of firefighting operations.
James Kaufman, World News Report Today.
Ladies and gentlemen,
this is a small plane that hit Beijing's tallest building,
a 109-story building.
It's in China.
You can actually see the impact on some of the other film we have.
There's the plane falling right there, or part of it.
And this is debris and windows.
This is, again, Beijing's tallest building.
It's as tall as any building.
In the world, 109 stories.
Here we have a different angle.
I believe they went to plan, but we'll get it back.
Pieces.
There it is falling right there.
A large piece of it is.
It just hit the ground.
We do have pictures of it on the ground.
Again, hit the largest high-rise in Beijing.
It did penetrate, but not as much as you'd think it would
based on the Twin Towers episode.
It was a small plane.
plane. It was just doing touch and goes.
This is a huge pilot error. I don't think it was a suicide.
This looks very similar to the first footage.
It might be the same, although someone else
originally dropped it. Also, it was an original drop,
which doesn't make any sense. There is the
large part of that plane that we're about to take a look at.
These could be windows or parts of
planes or anything, if you know what I mean.
Here's the actual plane that was involved in the
June 26th collision
with Beijing's city tower.
It was a Sunward SA-60L Aurora, which is a
prototype. There is the impact. Here it is burning on the ground.
There are pieces falling over here.
And this made the news, of course, Beijing's
tallest skyscraper at Sunward SA-60L.
And there's the large piece that we saw falling on the ground.
Looks like the tail section only.
So not a good outcome there.
And it continues.
All right, up to Canada, Manitoba.
This happened today.
Today.
There is yellow tape.
I don't know the outcome for the souls that were aboard.
It looks like they came down pretty lucky, but you never know.
I've seen, I'm about to show you
a plane that doesn't even look beat up,
but the pilot did die.
Again, Manitoba, Canada.
This is the United Kingdom Dunkeswell Airport in England,
and you can see the plane doesn't look that bad at all.
You can't really see the other side of it,
but it did take the life of the female pilot that was 41 years old.
It's under investigation.
This did happen today as well, the 26th.
Now, this plane either ran out of gas,
had a fuel leak or engine problems,
and it landed on this dirt road successfully.
One of the good stories from today, this,
too, happened in Canada, believe it or not.
We got a lot more to come.
All right, the fires have started up,
and these were actually spotters for the large
planes that dumped the water and deterrents,
and we had one go down, looks like a King
Air, Northwest Territory, Fort Simpson area, three perished.
They don't have any real good pictures because it's so dense,
but I was able to get the actual
the actual plane and uh well the plane that it guides
in the next photo so the plane that went
down was the spotter plane here's the actual photo
and this is the one that carries the deterrent
and or the water to the forest fires those are going
to start up real big time here and it could
be additional problems with aircraft
because of that not to mention all these drones they're
supposed to be flying people from the airports to downtown
and from airport to airport all around
the cities those are going to become a huge mess
this year think about the birds all right osaka
japan this is a learjet that went down was owned
by a surgeon famous surgeon there and him and his
three family members were able to walk away
from this crash why didn't it blow up like all the
other ones i don't know the front looks pretty bad off
but all in all and i can't see behind it
but all four of them walked away
no ambulance needed unbelievable again not quite sure what
kind of learjet it is either they didn't give information
but this is in japan japan that's
it guys i'd rather take the bus every single day i look we see
the same thing over and over and i'm
not having to go back if i were to go back i could show you crashes
for 12 15 20 hours uh so these
This is what all happened yesterday and today.
