Yeah, the water is starting to come back
for some communities here in Westchester.
But if you turn your faucet on and notice it's running slowly,
some workers here tell me that is to be expected
as they have to slowly let the system fill back up.
You can see the crews here across the street.
They've been working.
There's an excavator there.
They've been moving and removing dirt and putting it right back on
where they had to fix that water main issue.
Now, this is near 836 Central Park Avenue in Greensburg.
That worker that talked to me earlier told me that the break happened
around 2 Thursday afternoon
and crews have been out here all night working to fix it, we're told
residents in parts of Edgemont, Hartsdale,
and Fairview reported having no water. It was a
major water valve break here. The outage
also leading Greensburg Central School District to
announce a three hour delay
and school delays in Edgemont. The district says it could switch to
remote learning if it can't safely open
its buildings now. We did speak with some residents
here that we that just telling us
that how difficult it's been not having water, they say
since about two yesterday the worker here telling us
that that water pressure should gradually build
back up as the system fills up. There's
also a question about quality. We'll be checking in with
the county health department about whether
a boil water advisory is needed. For now, that's the latest
from here in the Greensburg section of Westchester
this morning, Eric Robinson, News 12.
