A mom and her newborn ambushed and beaten by three people
and the mom says she knows who did it
and she's talking about it with none other than Fox 2's Jessica Duknak.
Jessica's live tonight on
Detroit's West Side with the details. Jess.
These details, Rup, are really hard to believe. The good
news, though, is mom and her newborn baby,
just four weeks old, they are at home recovering but
absolutely traumatized. We're going to call this young mother,
Taylor, for the purposes of this
story. She did want to speak out but she wanted her identity protected.
She came out and started
jumping me and it was three verse one.
A snippet of the beating caught on camera. We'll call this
mom Taylor and her newborn baby boy just four
weeks old ambushed attacked she says by family
members of the baby's dad.
It doesn't matter what I said to anyone did it don't matter this
What happened to me and my son, we didn't deserve this.
Taylor says she was lured to the home on Detroit's West Side this week
after the now-suspect said they wanted to see the new baby.
As I'm handing her my car seat,
she starts to kind of like snatch it out of my hand.
At some point, the baby was tossed
from a stroller onto the ground, smashing his face.
We saw his swollen eye and bruising. Taylor took a 10-minute beating.
I just was feeling blows on every part of my body.
I have knots all on my forehead. I have both two swollen eyes.
One eye was shut. It's been three,
it's been about three days since this incident happened.
Detroit police are preparing the case to hand over
to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office for charges.
Whatever happens to you, I hope they show no mercy.
Investigators are very close to wrapping up this investigation
and handing it over to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
It does look like all three women involved will be charged.
Now, I spoke with the detective over at DPD about this case.
She did have a warning
because this story is blowing up on social media.
If you do see a GoFundMe page that has been set up for this mom
and newborn, it's a fake.
It's not real.
We confirmed with mom.
She said, there's no reason for me
to have a GoFundMe page, so just be wary.
Reporting live on Detroit's West Side, Jessica Duknak, Fox 2 News.
Yeah, Jess, it is breathtaking to see that video
and just terrible, just so chilling.
and you think about 10 minutes the damage that can
be done in 10 minutes we're lucky that that
they're doing how they are right now
which is better than most would think and when we were
talking to mom she actually had a c-section
which as we know is a very major surgery just four weeks
ago so really it's amazing that her injuries were were not worse uh
and nothing to make uh light of
at all in this situation her face was badly beaten
and that's one of the reasons she just didn't want
her face out there. She said she does
not feel like herself right now. I can't imagine. We wish
her and her baby and her whole family well.
Jessica Duke, Night Force Live tonight. Jess, thank you.
