James Kaufman, World News Report Today. ICE arrests University of Maryland professor from Ethiopia illegally in the U.S. The University of Maryland pharmacy professor, Verena Cabret, was arrested by ICE at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport, sparking outrage from the far left-wing media. Despite being here illegally at the time of his arrest, He was traveling back to Baltimore, Maryland from Dallas, Texas, where he received an award for Teacher of the Year from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. This must be a DEI group. The suspect may be a professor at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, but he's in the U.S. illegally on an overstayed visa, which expired years ago, according to the Department of Homeland Security. The university said that they were greatly troubled and that Cabret has a valid work authorization, so it is their hope that any issues surrounding his status will be quickly resolved, according to CBS. However, the Department of Homeland Security described Cabret as an illegal alien from Ethiopia in a statement. as having entered the country in 2021 on a temporary travel visa, and I guess he decided to stay. Quote, against our nation's laws, he overstayed his visa and failed to reapply or depart. He will remain in ICE custody pending his immigration proceedings, the Department of Homeland Security said, noting that being in detention is a choice that he made. What do you think, guys? Crazy. So he has a work visa, but he didn't reapply for his actual visa. I'm not quite understand the ins and outs, but he is in detention and the left wing media is up in arms.
