Yeah, well, what are you most looking forward
to about today, Senator Marshall?
Oh, gosh, I think just the eruption of the crowd
when President Trump steps on the stage.
There's so many supporters here.
Well over 25,000 people are expected to be here today.
I don't know if the stadium holds 4,000 or 5,000.
President Trump's going to be so upset I didn't get a bigger stadium.
And how important is this visit from the president
for your Senate race right now?
This race, according to polling, is increasingly close.
How important is the president's visit right now?
Yeah, we don't win this race unless
President Trump's voters get out and vote.
That's how close it is.
There may be 200,000 people in Kansas that only vote
when President Trump's on the ticket.
So he's got to present his case that he's on the ticket,
that if we would, this seat would flip,
it would give control of the Senate to Chuck Schumer,
to Elizabeth Warren, to Bernie Sanders.
That would mean open borders and higher taxes for us
and the military would be weaker.
So we need President Trump to make the case that they need to get out
and vote for Roger Marshall.
What is the importance of holding Congress
when Trump has two years left in this term?
Yeah, well, certainly if we lost the Senate,
his Make America Great agenda would be over with.
And we'd be tied up with long, long trials, impeachment trials as well.
So I think that if we want to continue this direction we're going,
that the borders are more secure than ever,
the military is strong,
the largest tax cut in American history that we need to keep control
of the Senate. Republicans need to keep control of the Senate.
How conservative at all are you
that President Trump's endorsement might hurt you?
Some people think he's unpopular right now
with gas prices, the Iran war, tariffs,
affordability, things like that. Look, I think
the benefits far outweigh any risk.
It's interesting, a majority of the undecided voters
are Trumpers. That's what we're betting on,
is that he's going to mobilize his base, which is
my base and get out and vote
and just even as we're knocking doors the polling was saying even
the last three or four days looks like
the republicans are coming home last question what
do you hope to hear from the president tonight you want
to hear about gas prices affordability
around war is there anything out there as we've talked
to voters with a few things they've said
they wanted to hear about what would you like
to hear about from the president yeah i personally
reached out to President Trump
and said what can we do to help with diesel prices we may hear
something special from him tonight on that.
But more than anything else, it's
we've got to get out and vote across
the entire state as of tomorrow morning.
Early voting is open for everybody. Senator, one quick question. How
important is it to have a rally
in a place like Wichita as opposed to like
Johnson County, Wyandotte County? Are these more Trump supporters in
Wichita than maybe some of those other places
in Kansas? It is. And I think of
those Wichita union workers
that were maybe traditional Democrat voters that
been looking for a home ever since Joe Biden became president.
These are my friends. These are
the people I went to high school, to college with,
the parents of my buddies as well that are these
union workers over here. These are folks that drive a truck,
that have a fishing boat, and
really they want Washington DC just out of their way.
They want to make America great again, okay?
