Palacios to rock custom cleats in World Series

Players often make a statement with their game day arrival fits, but Ray's second baseman, Richie Palacios, takes his game day style onto the field. Recently, he had his game-winning motto, Zip Em Up, and a pic of his signature celebration with shortstop Taylor Walls painted onto his newest cleats. Palacios shared the Lucia Footwear Company's post on Instagram, and you're going to see Richie and Taylor doing their dunk celebration after every Ray's win. The second baseman is known for his custom game day kicks. He wore a Lisa Simpson-inspired pair earlier in the year and in the series with the Yankees, and they feature Lisa in a superhero cape and her iconic lizard queen moment. The shoes actually were designed by Yeardley Smith, the actress who voices the classic Simpsons character. Earlier this season, Ritchie was on her Guard the Yard podcast and told her about a personal mantra, rent is due every day and it's a phrase she included when designing his custom cleats it's just you know never satisfied and i was a successful player today okay that's cool i gotta lock in and figure out what i gotta do the next day to be the successful player again and then when i do fail i gotta do it again and again and it's rent's due every day like yes i could be at the top of the mountain the best player ever but still like you're only as good as your next at bat. So I live by that and that's been able to be helpful to me in my career. Richie's game day drip has also included the Joker, Monsters Inc. and a fabulously sparkly blue raised pair. We'll certainly be watching to see what he is wearing in game one and of course we hope to see his post-game jump celebration with Taylor Walls often this series.
