3 family members shot after gunfire erupts in broad daylight

A woman and her two adult children were hospitalized after a daytime shooting erupted on a North Philadelphia street Wednesday morning, according to authorities.

The shooting happened just before 10 a.m. on the 2800 block of North 20th Street.

Authorities said a suspect walked up to the front of a home and opened fire on a 29-year-old man and his 27-year-old sister as they sat on the front porch.

Investigators said the siblings ran inside the house to escape the gunfire, but the gunman allegedly followed them inside and continued shooting. Their 49-year-old mother was then struck by gunfire inside the home.
