A North Wilmington business owner is among the victims of a $1 million heist of rare sports and Pokémon cards stolen from a FedEx truck in California.
The cards belong to collectors from across the country who sent them to Santa Ana to be authenticated.
Brazen thefts of the valuable cards have been captured on video across the country all year -- from New York to Boston, and in the Philadelphia regions of Montgomery County and parts of South Jersey.
"I want my cards. I put a lot of time and effort into it, and I just want my cards back," said Alessandro Spennato, owner of Sitaly to Go in North Wilmington, Delaware.

Well, tonight the search is on for the suspect
in an unusual million-dollar heist.
A Delaware man is out more than $75,000 worth of collector's cards,
which were stolen all the way in Southern California.
Action News reporter Corey Davis, live in North Wilmington tonight,
with more on the theft targeting some of the rarest cards in the world.
Corey.
Rick, that local collector
who we spoke with says he became numb and quickly upset
after learning his cards were stolen on the other side of the country
and he owns this pizza shop
but for him collecting these cards means
a lot more than just a hobby brazen thefts of valuable
Pokemon and sports trading cards all year long from New York to Boston
and here at home too
it's happening in Montgomery County
and in South Jersey where thieves hit card stores in Washington
and Gloucester townships over the summer.
Alessandro Spanato, owner of Siddeley To Go in North Wilmington,
among the latest victims.
Hopefully somebody that realizes stolen does the right thing.
Spanato says his wrestling cards were among hundreds stolen last week
on the other side of the country in Santa Ana, Southern California.
All 82 of them.
Police say nearly a million dollars in rare trading cards,
including highly valuable Pokemon and sports collectibles,
were stolen from a FedEx truck parked outside of a company called
Professional Sports Authenticator, or PSA.
Collectors like Spanato from around the world
sometimes pay thousands to have cards examined,
carefully encapsulated, returned with a serial number,
and a grade from 1 to 10.
Taking a 10 on a card can jump the value drastically.
Spanato says his collection of Roman Reigns cards,
one of the most popular WWE wrestlers in the world,
means more than just a monetary value.
I want my cards. I put a lot of time and effort into it.
And I just want my cards back.
Yeah, PSA's parent company is telling me
that they have deactivated the certificates for the missing cards
and that they're working right now on compensation
that will match fair market value.
So Spanato is saying that he doesn't know how the company is going
to come up with the value for some of these one-of-a-kind cards.

All right, Corey, thank you.
