Friday, we've got the World Series.
And while nobody has been announced as the starters,
minus 160, minus 165 tells me we're likely getting the matchup
we think we're going to get here, which is Rasmussen versus Miz.
And my same fear is that, I mean,
if minus 160 for a guy that in the postseason,
Craig it's four innings four
and a half innings is what we've gotten out of Miz, it's not like the
Dodgers and Padres didn't make him work
and again we're at the point of the season where this is
he's not a guy that's used to throwing 200 plus innings
a year, this is we're getting to that
point where arms might well might become a little fatigued
and my question is is that where Miz is
at right now where if he only gives me three
or four innings oh man in a seven game series now
i gotta get the bullpen who's
also worked a lot i gotta get them involved early and it's you know
which one of these starters can can go the longest i think
is where we're at here yeah i mean the Rays
don't typically score a ton of runs
when they do it's Caminero and so at least for Miz's point of
view it is that righty righty matchup uh
with your most powerful impact player and look if Caminero
goes nuts then it doesn't really matter i mean
and that's what he did all season hitting close to
50 home runs or whatever he had almost winning
the MVP, he still could win the MVP, I don't think
he will, but but I think that the Rays will do most
of their damage probably, I would guess against
lefties, did I get that right? I think that's what we
were talking about last week, yeah, so yep yeah
so so uh yeah no I I I think the Brewers have
the clear advantage in game one you know we'll we'll
check on what you're saying it's not unreasonable
to think that if their bats are quiet through
three innings through four innings through five innings you know
then that's that could be a
problem for Milwaukee but then it all goes back
to for me it goes back to the same thing
if milwaukee was down one nothing in the sixth i think they'd love it
because that's what they've
done all season long the down one nothing
so if the rays are gonna win i think they gotta be up a few
runs going into the late innings
because milwaukee uh the brewers are just so dangerous and then of
course with the bullpen they have they just shut teams down
so uh i think we're gonna get less
home runs in this series than what milwaukee showed against
la i thought that was an anomaly
i think of the four games three went over the total
and i certainly don't think a lot of
world series games are going to go over the total
but the brewers were putting up some big
offensive numbers up on la and i don't see
that happening against Rasmussen he's been too good
to get hit and what are we looking at probably
a low scoring tight game that is decided by the
bullpens on friday that that's at least the way
that it would appear to me and the Rays bullpen
is not a slouch by any means
but no the brewers have just had this this fortune laden games
Garrett Mitchell and Bowers, like I don't know
a lefty lefty doesn't matter home runs like i
it feels like the Brewers are kind of this team
of destiny, it really does, it really does. Now who
would your favorite be for MVP if you were looking here
who do you think is the World
Series MVP, is it?
I mean, it's not like Caminero, even Diaz.
I mean, these guys have had monster at-bats for Tampa,
too, across the board.
So who's the...
Take a look.
Yeah, I mean, 6-1 Contreras right now.
What do we got?
I don't think it's a pitcher.
I'll just say that right now.
I don't think it's a pitcher.
Well, a pitcher, if it was a pitcher,
it would be a seven-game World Series, right?
That's what it would have to be for that to be.
yeah unless unless unless Milwaukee
or Tampa brought back one of their guys for six which
also is not impossible but i don't see i don't see
that being Misurawski by the way it would
be Rasmussen I agree Misurawski is a guy that they
were going to be a lot more careful with
because the Brewers by the way Joe they
do nothing every year at the deadline they're
always playing toward next year
so you think they're going to blow Misurawski out in October
no chance of that it could be Peralta go back
to that guy for a sec sorry yeah um let's take a shot
on two guys let's take a shot on the Tampa Bay side
with Yandy Diaz do that i like that i think
you know all-time Ray favorite Ray yeah it
was really good in the ALCS boy NL that is a tough
one that is a tough one, Bowers with the platoon splits
is not, I can't do that even though it's
a great story, I think I think you're betting
on that great story, it is Joe, you're probably right
it is contrarian, probably right if it's gonna
be like he's the guy it feels like he would be the
guy right, like if Milwaukee everything seems
to revolve around uh around him here but
Tampa Bay wide open, a little wide open
a little wide open for Tampa Bay, yeah look look on paper
on paper Caminero is by far
and away their most impactful best player, what has Caminero done? he
had the one hit last night, that's it, like that's really it
when it comes down to it, like he had
the big hit you know with the with the pounding
his chest after cool good for him totally i have
no issue with that a lot of fun
but from a production standpoint it's not like Junior
Caminero was Freddie Freeman in the in the in any
of the playoffs i agree a couple of big hits that's
it Yandy Diaz has been the one that's just keeps getting
on base he keeps singling keeps doubling
keeps driving in runs he does maybe maybe that is the better option
