NFL Won't Penalize Eagles Over Jalen Hurts Handling

The NFL has no intention of penalizing or taking any action against the Philadelphia Eagles organization for the handling of him playing in that game in London. And the more that you look at this, the more you go, how did this get out exactly? Because we know, and I think Pelissero and the rest of them, I think there was a lot of damage control being done and leaking yesterday, to your point, with people trying to put this in a different light than what it really was uh but how did this get out originally is is a great question you brought up yesterday because was there it would only come from Jalen Hurts's side right like something must have happened where he didn't feel like his best interests were being taken into consideration yeah probably so like you know it's it's hard to pick games and it's hard to win games and so when when we do this on the show it definitely feels good to win some and you know you're going to lose some but i think that what i can provide in life is just my expertise on being on this on this side of reporting and understanding because i have been and i've been on these stories before joe and i've dealt with agents before and so when i speculate on this sort of stuff it is speculation but what i try to do is play the side of hey like i've been there before and i kind of know how it works so i still am not a hundred percent clear but i think in the end uh you know i i've been in tom pelissero's shoes and i have no indictment on him because i've done the same thing that he has done but it does feel like to do some damage control on the career of jalen hurts and the play of jalen hurts and how bad the eagles have been was you know what you know let's kind of tell a story here as to maybe why he was so bad that just just in case the eagles move on from him which you never know by the way in the offseason like it was sort of you know after the way last season ended it was kind of being talked about like i wonder if he still is their quarterback uh of the of the future present we know he's been fantastic winning super bowl and everything but you know the results of last year really haven't been there and brown has been gone and barkley's not the same and now uh what do you do well let's you know let's tell Tom Pelissaro all these things that he had to go through and the kind of guy that he is to gut it out and boy and you know let's let's let's show him like what kind of character this guy has and what he had to do to do it and then if you're the reporter on that end i mean jalen hurts becomes a free agent joe yep and guess who's gonna guess who's gonna get that story it'll be Tom Pelissaro it's gonna be like i've been listen i i don't i hate to say it but it is it is kind of how it works you say the right thing you never know you know you're battling adam schefter and you're battling you know uh a rap sheet you know although they're kind of i think working together now but you're battling it out for stories i mean listen we saw this whole diana rossini thing too so that was a little extreme on that side but i've been there joe and now like you you put that out there and you think to yourself down the line i don't know if it's now i don't know if it's six months from now i don't know if it's two years from now i'm probably going to get a breaking news story in the future for saying what i've said now i i would guess that any reporter would take exception to me and say are you crazy that's not how it works you must be working in a different living than i mean come on i've been there i i i know how it is i've been guilty of it i've done it um the breaking news industry is the most competitive of anything i did it for a really long time joe at a very high level by the way breaking some of the biggest baseball stories in the country i've done it and sometimes you got to do these things to to get ahead here now to dial it back here just from the last 30 seconds or 40 seconds joe i don't know that this is the case that's just my speculation as to i'm not accusing it of that i'm just saying that's what it feels like to me yeah it certainly feels like there was uh with Paulisaro when he originally broke that story and then came back with the oh you know what a football player he is he just wants to play football there were a whole lot of layers to that so you have to wonder yeah they were trying to deflect from what the actual story was itself and the reality is yeah but the nfl is now coming out or it's being reported that the nfl uh has absolutely no intention of penalizing yeah how do you penalize eagles when the doctors the team doctors and we had dr chow on yesterday he's like there isn't one doctor there's three doctors there's independent neurologists on the thing and and they all signed off on it yes and and there's something else involved here which is serious too like you know and this is where not being a reporter and i've actually seen some reporters go after this too which is strange it tells me that they're not in the game like i've been in the game i mean with all due respect but like when it comes to medical issues joe do you expect the eagles immediately to come out and say you're wrong and you're wrong and you're i mean this guy is facing potential we hope not like i mean death i mean it's a serious medical issue forget HIPAA and all that other stuff you think that nick sirianni is going to give anything except for these canned answers with putting at the risk that if something did happen to jalen hurts then we're going to have nick sirianni being quoted as saying we did this that and the other no the eagles were never going to respond right away what did they do they wait until today and they let the nfl speak about it that the medical doctor from the nfl came out they gave the full report they said they did everything that they were supposed to do the Eagles handle it perfectly fine and you're never going to hear crap
