Who are some of the young teams that we should be looking out for?
Look, it's clear.
Timberwolves are a huge one right now.
They're viral right now.
We got Edwards and Melo.
That's a really crazy duo right there.
They're young, they're athletic, they're loud, and they play exciting.
But we also got OKC.
OKC, you know, already a championship team,
but on top of that, contenders last year with players like Chet
and then even players like Shea.
And they haven't even reached their prime yet.
Another young team is we got the Mavs with Cooper Flagg.
I don't know how he's going to play with
Who's the, Kyrie Irving?
Is he on the Mavs?
Yeah, Kyrie.
No, he's an old veteran.
See, I believe in balance, right?
You want a little bit of both.
So you got, on the Eastern Conference,
you have more and more veteran teams.
The Knicks are an older team.
They won last year.
And then you have the Heat, who I'm a big fan of.
Giannis was really good with Bam.
And then you have the 76ers.
Now, you're going to have some conflicted
feelings about the 76ers because you're a
big LeBron fan.
Last year, last week, you were arguing for LeBron over MJ.
What do you think about LeBron?
I mean, I was expecting you to be a Lakers fan.
You're an L.A. guy.
Lakers honestly have given LeBron a lot of crap lately and in the past.
So wherever LeBron goes, I go.
That's how I look at it.
Did you cheer for LeBron when he was with the Heat?
Yes, of course.
And the Cavs.
And the Lakers.
And now I'm a 76er.
I used to defend him all the time.
Why don't the Lakers give LeBron his due?
Look, I think it's always going to go back to comparison with Kobe.
And I think that goes to, once again,
the old generation versus the new generation.
You ask me, LeBron over Kobe any day.
The Lakers fans, they have to have another thing.
Let's get the unc of all uncs.
Oye, Marcelino, would you prefer your team
to be loaded with youth and athleticism
or to be loaded with vets that have experience?
I think that you need a perfect mix of both.
I think the youth brings the power, that indomitable spirit,
and also the wonder of a new season.
But the experience that a veteran brings to win championships
and to also manage a long season.
And give these kids good habits after practice, after the games.
Manage that new life that you're going to experience as an NBA player.
So a mix is the way to go.
And I think the 76ers have something going on for them.
At the same time,
the youth that we've seen actually dominate the NBA with the Thunder
and also with the Timberwolves.
You know, the proof is in the pudding.
Okay, so another topic
when it comes to youth versus vets is attitude and mentality.
Your generation, you know, younger millennials, Gen Z,
no, I think millennials are old at this point.
Gen Z gets a lot of crap for their attitude and their mentality
when it comes to practice, when it comes to injuries.
I'm noticing everybody getting injured these days.
Okay, so they might be stronger, they might be faster,
they might be jumping higher, but is your generation getting hurt more
or is it a mentality thing where it's like,
oh, no, I'm a little hurt, I can't play.
I think they know when to turn it on and when not to turn it on,
you know, risk injury.
I also think, you know, the best of the best are taking rest days,
as they should.
But wait, rest days should be reserved for veterans, bro.
For the old guy, not the young guy.
The uncles of the game, you know, they need that to literally recover.
They need it.
You know, the stars, the young guys, man, they're just shooting around.
They're going to pop off the garbage.
Okay, dude, but the overall attitude of the young player today is what?
They don't care.
It's not about history for them.
It's about what's happening now.
It's like, what do you think?
You know, they still have that ability to lock in,
but they know they got the cameras on them.
They know they're big on social media.
They know they got all the branding.
They literally bring that, like, finesse to the game.
Which is fun for us to watch.
I mean, like, look at Melo and Edwards, like we were talking about.
It's way more of a finesse game than it used to be.
I think that the uncles always give the nephews crap about how back
in the day everything was rougher.
And it was.
But it makes for a prettier game today for people to be flowing and not
getting knocked upside the head like the Detroit Pistons used to do.
I mean, they're doing, like, the alley-oops and the backpacks.
Yeah, I know. I love them.
