This is the beginning of the end.
It feels like Nick Sirianni's days
as the Eagles head coach are numbered.
I'm your host, Colin Kelly.
Welcome to Eagles Digest.
In today's episode,
we're going to dive into just exactly why I think it's inevitable
Nick Sirianni will not be the Eagles head coach in 2027.

The Eagles find themselves in just an absolutely chaotic season.
Nick Sirianni having to answer
to the national ABC World News level of story.
With regards to Jalen Hurts, his blood clot injury situation
dates back to multiple games ago.
First, when the Eagles hosted LA.
and then first becomes uncovered in London
and the Eagles this situation the explosive reporting
on Monday coming out about Jalen Hurts
from Tom Pelissero, Ian Rapoport about sleep about risk
about it's just a chaotic situation to say the least
and for Nick Sirianni to be thrown out there
into the media the scrum of Philly reporters
although even if it's virtual on Zoom to go
out there like it's just your run-of-the-mill Monday following
a game presser the Eagles are
not oblivious to that they would have expected they know what
was coming to get the PR just
deflect and say we always prioritize our players understandably
and we trust in our experts and our
guys the doctors okay
but to have just Nick Sirianni there
as the head coach oh let's talk
about the Panthers let's let's talk about Dallas
on Monday that's organizational malpractice by
let me be clear here by Jeffrey Lurie
and Howie Roseman, Howie Roseman I don't understand how Sirianni
gets put into this position in terms of taking
this press conference solo facing the music at
one point things get a little bit testy
with Jeff McLean I I just don't understand for an
organization that's run very well that is fully aware
of public sentiment of public perception
this story regarding Jalen Hurts it
just something smells now let me
be clear Nick Sirianni when
asked on Tuesday morning on WIP
when asked his view on if he thought it was unfair or being put
in a brutal spot in terms of speaking alone
on Monday's press conference no that's my job go in
there every Monday and talk to the media through
the media talk to the fans well hold on yeah that's
exactly through the media reach reach out talk
to the fans that is not what happened on that Monday
presser the evasion the deflection the lack
of leadership from those above Nick Sirianni from
Howie Roseman in particular just throw him out there give me
a break give me give us fans a
break with this and to further to add to this presser
Nick Sirianni the choice words ironically
enough of saying look you guys can hear
the statement what part of his response you know we
look we always prioritize our players
but we only fully back our staff the doctors understandably
but then oh you guys can hear we put out the statement
Hold on, hold on, we can't hear anything
that's the point as fans we couldn't hear anything just
from you Nick as the head coach a football
coach who's not in charge of departments overseeing
the hiring overseeing procedure
we didn't get to hear anything
this situation warranted more than a statement put out by
Jalen's agent Nicole Lynn in conjunction with the team
this situation called for more than that
there's there's injuries I understand there's injuries like
an ankle knee shoulder then there's
a player's health and safety this type of injury
the whole situation needed to be addressed and it
what further adds to it for me
we got word from Jonathan Jones via The Athletic about
the NFL today on Tuesday
The NFL concluded that the Eagles
how the Eagles approached the situation with Jalen
Hurts, clearing him to play with the blood clot
the superficial blood clot at the time,
was handled appropriately.
so it was handled appropriately
Why couldn't Howie Roseman go out there and just say,
hey, we're not going to dive into
any specifics, but we fully support our doctors.
We fully prioritized Jalen's health every step of the way here.
We ultimately came into determination that he
was fit to play at that time with the information
at hand.
Jalen's doing okay.
Just give a general update expressing any type
of timeline, any type of general conduct.
That's Howie Roseman's job to oversee things,
and he just did not do that.
He simply did not do that.
And when I think about Howie making Nick effectively a lame duck
in this situation, a fall guy, unfairly, in terms of hearing the music,
facing the music, with very limited information being given
to the public, or a lot at once, a lot of just chaos,
a little bit interesting pronunciation there, a lot of chaos,
so that, this is really sticking with me, this decision,
clear decision to put Nick Sirianni out there alone.
But then we think about what's next for this Eagles team,
courtesy of Kalshi.
This Eagles season forecasts up to just 6.6 wins.
Thank you to Kalshi for sponsoring today's video.
On Kalshi, you're trading directly against other users,
not the house like traditional sportsbooks.
You're buying yes or no contracts on the outcome
of events related to the weather, politics,
but of course sports like your Philadelphia Eagles.
And you look at where things are, the forecast
of this season, all the way down to a 6.6 win total.
you effectively look at a no contract
for the Eagles to get seven plus wins i don't see how
the Eagles pick up five more wins
on the schedule let alone even four this season is just going
downhill fast, a 25 no trade and a 61% chance
to pay 40 and 79 cents if you're interested in
get 55 when you trade your first 25 using
the code digest NFL in the pinned comment

the description let's talk about
the schedule we know it's all divisional games coming up, a three
in a row the eagles are not expected to win this
game versus the Dallas Cowboys public sentiment
my sentiment as well the eagles the state
of this offense it's just not going to be good enough it's
not going to be good enough for certainly Jeffrey Lurie
in my view with sign off from Howie Roseman
this things continue
which there's no end in sight here with this offensive performance
Nick Sirianni his job is in trouble couple it
with actions on Monday just go out there yourself
face the music you and only you as the football coach
not a medical expert not the GM of this
franchise the vice president the leader
of this franchise effectively no Nick just go out yourself
And you look what's on the horizon as far as the results on the field.
Sean Mannion, let's put it in a different way.
I don't see how Nick Sirianni is able
to survive another offensive coordinator turnover.
Good things just continue to stay the same,
even if they just marginally improve over
the rest of this season.
There's just no way.
There's no viability in being the next,
the 2027 head coach, to be clear.
You look at this Eagles offense,
30th in yards per game, 26th in passing yards per game,
29th in rushing 28th in points per game
the Eagles offense has just been brutal absolutely
brutal and it doesn't look like things are really going
to get better anytime soon you are without
your franchise quarterback for the rest
of this season Jalen again to you all the best in your
recovery take your time with Tanner McKee got
to be the starter for the foreseeable future I then
start to think well hold on if the Eagles continue to not execute
which of course falls on the head
coach continue to be non-disciplined a fall guy
at quarterback's gonna inevitably be made as well
with Tanner McKee he's not in a position to succeed
so who knows when a change is made to
whomever whether it be Joe Milton as a leader
in the clubhouse we're running out of runway here
as if the eagles haven't already guys i want
to hear from you do you think do you expect Nick
Sirianni to remain Eagles head coach in 2027 let me know
your thoughts down below i think i've made
it clear, I do not.
The question is, does he make it through this regular season?
Let me know, guys.
As always, have a great one. I'll see you in the next one. Go Birds!
