I am LOVING how these two turned out. I find that a regular dip just needs something a little extra, and with a stencil and some heavy body paint, I can really spice them up! I used a rainbow / chakra color palette for these dips, which you can see here: https://youtu.be/fbHgAuCMFp8 .
I think I may have to do two more to make a matching set of 4. Or, I can do a set of 4 with the white background and another set of 4 with the black background for matching sets. Let me know what you think about these! They'll be getting some resin soon.
Good morning everyone.
Today I'm going to be using one of my favorite stencils to add
a stencil design on both of these dips.
I have, they were rainbow colored
and then I did one in black and one in white,
and so I'm going to do one stencil in gold and one stencil in silver.
I think I'm going to do
the gold on the black and the silver on the white.
I've done one of these before and I did a gold
stencil on it and it looked really nice
so I want to see what the silver will
look like these are thicker paints
the heavy body paints work well for me in
stenciling it stays in the stencil
and it doesn't seem to bleed underneath the
stencil too much
so I'll just show you I have a little silicone spatula that I
can use to spread the paint out over the stencil
and I'm just going to I think I
was looking at this earlier
and I think I'm going to put the stencil in this
direction I'm going to line it up
as best as I can to the edges and then I
just have
some tape
that I
will tape
it down
and I
will just
take my
paint and
my
spatula
and
just
start
adding
the
paint
now
the
paint
is
still
wet
I'm
going to peel the tape off
and peel the stencil I will rinse the stencil and we
will try the other one I've never left the stencil on a piece
while the paint
is drying I don't know if it hardens next
to the stencil if the stencil would
pull off parts of the design so I just do it
while it's wet just very carefully
so we're just going to peel
this away looks fantastic I got these stencil
pretty right along the edge on both the bottom
and the side this will dry really
nicely i have a few areas where i just got
a little bit of gold paint on there so i'll just
rub that off i'll smooth out the sides just
a little bit here where the paint is right on the
edge and then i'll let this dry i'll probably
be finishing finishing these with resin i do like the
way it looks but that and i will definitely get some pictures
of these while they're all dry so
you can see how that gold dries it gets dries really nicely
and is really nice and bold and
vibrant against those other colors.
So now we will try with the silver and see what that looks like.
So I just took some warm water
and rinsed my stencil off.
I used some paper towels just to
pat it dry and now I'm going to tape it to the second painting
and try out the silver paint and
see the way that looks. I think against the white background
the silver is going to look really nice.
Since I've used gold before I just didn't want
to do the same thing on each painting.
so I'll yeah it looks like I have
this lined up pretty good I'm going right to the edge
with
my
stencil
I
will
tape
this
down
and
then
start
applying
the
silver
I'm
going
to
peel
the
stencil off that one looks really nice too and
let these dry and then show you what they look
like all dry so you can see how sparkly and nice
but the gold and the silver both look but this one
also turned out very nicely.
So we'll take a look
at these once they're all dry.
So these are all
dry and I'm going to try and, oh look at that,
get this in the light here. Both the silver and the
gold dried really well and I'm thinking that I may
do two more and create a full four piece
of the stencil design. I don't know
if you let me know what you like better, if you like the gold
or the silver. I could do a second black
and gold piece and a second silver and white piece
or I can try and do a full set of white.
So four in the white and silver and four in the black and
gold so that the sets are more matching instead
of having the different colored backgrounds.
But this stencil is really nice. I really like it.
It's really easy to use. It has a really nice
pattern in it. I have some other stencils that I can also try.
But I just wanted to show you what
they look like all dry.
I need to touch up the edges of the painting and then I'll probably
finish these with resin
and that's really going to make those colors pop even more. But I hope
you enjoyed. I hope it was helpful.
If you want to add a stencil to your own design it's pretty easy
to do. Like I said before I would suggest a thicker paint
because it holds up well against
the stencil and doesn't really bleed underneath
the stencil so I hope you
guys enjoyed let me know what you think down
in the comments if you'd like to
see more I will definitely work
on some other stencil designs if you think I
should add to this and make it a full set of four
and see how that looks I
will do that I think it'll look pretty awesome
so I hope you guys have a good
day I'll see you in the next video and thank you all for watching
