(422) AMAZING AIRBRUSH Results! Acrylic Pouring Technique / Fluid art Pour Painting

I am so in love with this piece! I have wanted to figure out my own style of acrylic pour painting and I think this may be the start of it. I have used an airbrush before (see more videos below), but never really got the results that I wanted.

I really like the way blown air, like an airbrush or hair dryer, can blend paint in a really beautiful way. Most of the time I find that I add too much paint and everything becomes muddy, or moves quite a bit while it is drying and ruins my final piece. For this painting, I decided to thin my paint down significantly more than I normally do, and also only used a very small amount of paint at a time. I used yellow, orange, magenta and a burgundy that I mixed with red and black. I think I will do these colors again but leave out the burgundy.

I used a very thin coat of white for a base coat so the paint would move well, and then spent time dropping small amounts of color onto the canvas. By using small amounts of paint, I had a much better ability to control the flow of the overall piece. When I had a few areas that I didn't like, I was able to easily remove the paint with a napkin and try again.

This painting dried beautifully and I have a lot of other ideas to try along with embellishing some of these airbrushed pieces!

My husband said this almost reminded him of watercolors due to the airy effect when dry.
